23.01.2022 For every dad, carer or grandparent we love, staying apart today for Father’s Day is going to be hard. But we can still make a big deal of our dads and carers in small ways that mean a lot. Because dad jokes are just as funny, and sometimes not, over phone or videocalls. Gifts we have delivered or a handwritten note in the mail, will mean a lot. And of course, there’s the special ways we remember the dads we've lost. We hope all these special men enjoy being spoilt today and hopefully we can all see our families soon! Now more than ever it’s the thought that counts, so let’s thank our dads and carers a little differently this year. Because staying apart, keeps us together. www.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

08.01.2022 From 11th October, all Victorians must wear a fitted face mask when they leave home, not matter where they live. As restrictions hopefully ease and movement increases, the effectiveness of a face mask is even more important. You must wear a fitted face mask that covers the nose and mouth. This means that face shields, bandanas, or scarves or loose snoods, loose buffs or loose neck gaiters on their own will no longer be considered a sufficient face covering.... All patients entering our practice are required to be wearing a face mask. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/face-masks-vic-covid-19

05.01.2022 The Department of Health and Victoria’s Chief Health Officer are urging parents and carers to keep young children at home if they are unwell, after a rise in outbreaks of viral gastroenteritis (also known as gastro) in childcare centres. Viral gastroenteritis is highly infectious. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, abdominal pain, headache and muscle aches. Symptoms can take up to three days to develop and usually last between one or two days, sometimes long...er. Infants or children in childcare or school, as well as staff, who develop vomiting or diarrhoea should stay at home until at least 48 hours after their symptoms have stopped, as they will still be infectious. If symptoms are severe or they persist, or you are concerned, please call 9595 9777. Anyone recovering from gastroenteritis should avoid visiting hospitals, childcare centres and aged care facilities to avoid spreading the infection to those most vulnerable. Any person living in a household with someone who has gastroenteritis should also refrain from visiting these high-risk facilities until at least 48 hours after the last person in the household has recovered. To learn more about gastroenteritis, view RCH Kids Health Information fact sheet here: https://bit.ly/3l2CD86
