25.01.2022 When the spectators lining the course are having a whale of a time, you know you are in for a good one! Nice little practice run for Geoff in the Kiama Coastal Classic last weekend. Scenery was on point with stunning cliff lines, grassy farmlets, cows and whales heading up the coast. Geoff got in some great training for an upcoming trail race, practicing gear and nutrition in a race environment. You can spend months training for your goal race only to have it all fall apart d...ue to failure of one of those two things. Always practice in training, or practice races, before the big day and you minimise the risk. Run and train happy! PC: AW

25.01.2022 Fantastic run by Jess today at Sydney10! She completely rocked it, running new bests even while in the midst of a solid base training phase. Shone as bright as the sunshine today!

22.01.2022 So happy to see so many of the team out and about on the weekend! Bruce & Julie explored Port Maquarie's hilly and rugged, but runnable terrain at The Elephant Trail, stretching their legs and refreshing the mind over the 50km. Meanwhile, Jess ran a nice little PB while displaying great mental strength at the Sutherland to Surf. Congratulations on a job well done!

19.01.2022 Coach said "at least one downhill has to be arms out aeroplane style".

17.01.2022 The Roller Coaster Run circus was in town and though Geoff had seen no elephant, he had seen a clown. The Ringmaster, Sean Greenhill of Mountain Sports had sent the 21.5km runners off and Geoff was one among over 400 conservatively heading out for a few hours of delicious trails and rolling hills the You Tube clip didn't do justice. Congratulations, Geoff, on achieving your qualifier for Wonderland Run! Great to see you embracing challenges with open arms and a grin that isn't painted on

16.01.2022 Good morning! Does the view out your window compare with the sights of Julie & Bruce? Acclimatisation and trek to the start line nearly complete (check out Original Everest Marathon for more details and photos). Nearly time for race day and it's going to be chilly! With the Polar Circle Marathon under their belts, our team should be well prepared for cold, but we wish them a safe and enjoyable run regardless. Go team!

16.01.2022 Congratulations to Heather and Jess running the 12km at RunWest this morning! Jess ran a super sweet PB, knocking a minute off her 11km best - yep that's right, a minute faster for a kilometre further, and Heather making a return with her first fun run after an absence of many, many years from chronic injury and raising a beautiful young, and growing, family. Western Sydney turned on a sunny morning to match our runners' moods on a course that took them through Sydney Motorsport Park and Sydney Zoo. Fine way to spend a Sunday morning.

13.01.2022 It was -16C at the start! Somehow, you two manage to look even more adorable in the chill. Amazing backdrop to boot! Thanks for sharing the pic!

11.01.2022 Woohoo! Go Jess! Casual 3000m PB to get the season going.

10.01.2022 We have our first 100km+ ultramarathon finisher! Congratulations to Julie for completing the 102km at Tarawera Ultramarathon in NZ yesterday. Credit to you, Julie, for taking things as they came, adapting to circumstances and persevering with courage. Congratulations also to Bruce for running a super strong 50km. While Bruce is our champion for running for pleasure, he demonstrates that you can grow and flourish as a runner with a non-competitive mindset by finishing well under 8.5hrs. Positivity, perspective and fun = win.

08.01.2022 There are many reasons we 'race'. Fun, exploration, discovery, enlightenment, challenge, society, practice for upcoming races, motivating and inspiring the kids .... the list goes on. Whatever reason you sign up, make sure that reason is yours and you truly believe and hold true to it. This strength of purpose will carry you anywhere and get you through anything. Congratulations to Julie & Bruce for staying true to their purposes at the recent Buffalo Stampede marathon. Held ...in the mountains surrounding the Victorian town of Bright, the run covers approx. 2000m ascent and 3000m descent and still had our New Strides Runners giggling and smiling the whole way. To quote Julie: "There is just something about the atmosphere at these races, the support of the spectators (think epic cowbell harmonies), and interacting with the other runners and supporting each other, especially on the really challenging parts of the course." Be true to yourself and find the joy. This is why we run.

08.01.2022 Huge congrats to Mr Geoff for his wonderful Wonderland 21 run last weekend! With a run anyone would be proud of, Geoff made his way through skinny sections between rock faces, down technical descents of rocky trails amongst the rainforest with its delightful earthy smells, up some solid ascents and along some quick road sections. A run with something for everyone! Big credit to Geoff who put months of dedicated committment into this race and also truly found his joy for running during this time. When you spend months training for just one day of racing it makes little sense not to love the process and the lifestyle. Have fun out there!

06.01.2022 They did it! The race that shall be hereforth known as that which redefined Julie's use of the word "brutal". Officially the highest marathon on Earth, the Original Everest Marathon runs down from Everest Base Camp in air so thin, with temperamental mountain conditions and unforgiving terrain this was truly an epic adventure for Julie and Bruce. Heartfelt congratulations! Looking forward to the photos to come

05.01.2022 The next epic adventure for our world explorers, Julie & Bruce is underway! You can follow their journey to Everest basecamp where begins the official highest marathon on the planet. Good luck, you guys! You are unstoppable! You can follow their journey on the Original Everest Marathon Facebook page or the OEM blog at http://originaleverestmarathon.com/index.php/2019-event-blog for more photos and information (Jules & Bruce already feature!). 05.01.2022 Beware the Teddy Bear and Be Fit to Strip... do you know the four principles for dressing right during this winter cold-snap?

04.01.2022 Doing anything for the first time is hard. You doubt yourself, you fear embarrassment, you wonder if all that is worth leaving the comfortable little space you have made yourself, but you are curious. You wonder what it is like to be "on the other side". So you work quietly behind the scenes, out of sight, thinking you'll do it one day. Eventually you put a date to "one day" and you immediately fill with trepidation. There's a buzz of excitement within, but there is also tha...t fear that gnaws away at you and gets louder as the time draws closer. What if I'm still not good enough? What if I can't do it? And that's just it. You don't know unless you try. You don't know until you step out there and give it a go. Chances are, if you prepared well, you will do what you set out to do, but if you do fall short of your ambitions then go back, practice some more and try again another day. Trust me. No one thinks you failed for trying. Everyone else has been there before and knows just how courageous you were for giving it a go in the first place. They won't judge, they won't be upset with you. Unless you give up there, of course. And when you do exceed what you believed deep down you could ever do, guess what, you'll realise just how much more you have to give. And that, is the most exciting thing in the world. And it all started with daring to dream. ____________________________ Dedicated to our very own athlete who debuted in her very first 5km parkrun event last weekend. There was a great deal of fear and nervousness but she took the leap and made a long awaited ambition happen. She smashed her expectations out of the park.

03.01.2022 "I headed straight up to the hub to soak up the atmosphere. Volunteers in clown and jester suits were everywhere and the area was buzzing!" Find out what it is like to run away with the circus in Geoff's exciting race report from the 2019 Roller Coaster Run!

02.01.2022 Successful parkrun weekend for New Strides Runners! Heather (sans pram) slashed 6mins from her recent times in her return to fitness, while husband Sean (still with pram) had a great run working his way through the field and finishing strong. These two are great ambassadors for family fun and fitness, getting the whole family getting in on the act with their 3 little ones in tow. Little Emma made her parkrun debut yesterday and thrilled herself by running the whole way fini...shing strongly and enjoying herself. Great news, guys!

02.01.2022 Overjoyed for Jess today who took 40 SECONDS from her personal best over 1500m! Jess has shown great dedication and commitment to training in the lead up to this race and it is great to see it paying off. Her courageous effort left it all on the track and also earned her second place in the NSW Country Championships. On fire!
