21.01.2022 Plastic in our oceans is killing marine wildlife at a staggering rate

21.01.2022 It was a pleasure to assist and work closely with Melbourne based Sculptor and Artist, Kathy Holowko, to create her giant brain sculpture which is now on display at the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition in Bondi. The material used to create the sculpture was a random mixture of lightly contaminated soft plastic waste sourced from domestic, industrial and agricultural waste streams. Importantly, these waste plastics generally go to landfill.... With Newtecpolys Polywaste Technology, the above plastic materials ( and so much more ) can be recycled into a molten plastic substrate, ready for moulding, in one simple process. This was our first experience at using this groundbreaking technology for an artistic piece. In doing so, we proved once again that what is generally considered plastic waste is actually a valuable untapped resource that should not be buried into the ground ! The public are invited to participate with the paddle (prior registration required) to clean up or tune in to media coverage. Our new and disruptive Australian designed plastic recycling technology focuses on comingled, soft/rigid, low value and often contaminated plastics that are uneconomical to recycle using traditional methods. 06.01.2022 Well weve done it!!! Newtecpoly successfully made an awesome community bench produced from the plastic waste collected on beaches around Noosa!!! With an estimated 150 million tonnes of plastic in our oceans at January 2016, we need more organisations like the Surfrider Foundation in order to preserve and care for our beaches and their marine wildlife. We would like to thank everyone who has supported our crowd funding campaign at www.igg.me/at/seatrash so far! Our campaig...n finishes in around 3 weeks and weve raised around $6,500! We still have a bit to go but are so positive about the future of PolyWaste technology.
