07.01.2022 *Sober October* Who's with me? Taking inspiration from a friend's post- let's chat about Sober October. A whole month to have a good excuse to not drink any alcohol. We all know it's bad for us. We all know it's bad for our sleep, our skin, our mood, anxiety and our waistlines.... As we get older; we just don't recover as well from a drink as we used to. It makes menopause symptoms worse- hot flushes and night sweats, waking up at 1am feeling anxious- not understanding why and not being able to get back to sleep. It makes Rosacea and acne worse, causes facial puffiness and can make old filler reactivate and give that strange pillow face look. It uses up our B vitamins to protect our brains- so we aren't fighting off the sun's free radicals as well as we would otherwise. All in all- if Wine was invented now- it'd be a schedule 8 drug.
