18.01.2022 The benefit of learning from the ground up is that you get an opportunity to learn exactly how something works as opposed to an off the shelf black box that you simply have to switch on having inserted 4 AA batteries. Such toys off very little in the way of creativity and discovery and the learning experienced becomes contrived. The robot in the picture was having a bit of trouble at the end of last week so this week, we took the time to completely rebuild the electronics. The student's understanding of the robots' inner workings were reinforced and we got it working. Here's to start from scratch, multi-skilled creative experiences.

We watched many seasons of Mythbusters as a family from when my children were little and am so grateful to Grant and the team for showing that learning and discovery neednt be academic and tedious - quite the opposite.
