23.01.2022 As you all know we have just had a bucket load of rain! With this much rain means flooding. We have already had a handful off callouts and alot of phone calls from panicking clients about the water. So here are Some helpful tips on how to deal with water at your home. If water is over flowing from the gutter/spouting then your downpipe is blocked!... Its alot cheaper to replace a down pipe than repairing water damage inside you home because of flooding gutter so pull the downpipe off anyway you can. Disconnect it from the gutter to allow the water to spill out onto the ground. If the water is overflowing from the bottom of your stormwater connection/downpipe that does not mean you have a problem but more that the stormwater system cannot handle this much water. Just divert the water away from anything you dont want flooded and wait until the rain slows down. Check inside your home for any signs of water. Light fittings are a giveaway as any water thats building up will flow down these and straight down onto the floor. As soon as water is spotted you need to find out where its coming from and stop it from coming in. If you cannot stop the water You can instead poke a hole through your cieling to release the water letting it drip/pour into a bucket. Patching this small hole will be alot cheaper than having to replace your whole ceiling due to water damage. DO NOT CLIMB ONTO YOUR ROOF!!! colourbond roofing is very slippery and dangerous. While some tiled roofs have more grip than colourbond roofing, its still dangerous to get up so just stay down.

21.01.2022 These two photos are the same job as the out door kitchen in wantirna south. The client wanted to get a exposed aggregate concrete slab poured but the sewer I.S (inspection shaft) was in the way. Because this inspection shaft is important for sewer blockages it had to stay, so nextgen plumbing extended the pipe while putting a Fitzroy box over it to protect it allowing future access for those nasty blockages.

21.01.2022 Job location - endevour hills Job description - Nextgen received a call out to this toilet cistern shooting water from the inlet. Upon inspection nextgen plumbing found what was left of the rubber washer you can see in the photo. A simple replacement was done and the toilet was back in action again without any shooting water.

17.01.2022 Job locations - Margos Cafe berwick Job description - Nextgen had a call to Margos cafe in berwick about their ovens pilot light going out. upon inspection Nextgen found the previous plumber had attempted to fix this problem but failed. We found not only was the thermocouple was needing to be replaced but there was a massive hole internally in the oven resulting in huge amounts of gas being released into the oven. A new oven was ordered and Nextgen Plumbing were there to get it installed and up and running as all the baking was being done at the owners home and brought in.

12.01.2022 Do you have a leaking tap? You need to read this....... The most common call out Nextgen Plumbing has is for leaking taps. We get the call that the tap is leaking and have only just had "someone" or "another plumber" out not so long ago to replace the washer to only have it continue to leak.... Changing a washer is only part of the problem. To properly fix a leak you must service the tap! The common cause of a leak is because the base that the washer sits on is uneven due to the water over time wearing it down. This means that over time the surface is uneven not allowing the washer to sit evenly on the base. Changing the washer will not stop this leak. You can see in the photos below, inside a tap there is the base it sits on. the top photo that looks dark inside is a base that has not yet been serviced. The second photo you can see a gold ring inside the tap. that is from grinding down the brass bass inwhich the washer sits. BUT!!!!! can you see the small dark line? This is a crack, a crack which replacing the washer will not stop a dripping tap. Nextgen Plumbing Service your taps thoroughly. The outdoor kitchen contains Hot & Cold water to the sink with waste connected to the sewer and also a natural gas line feeding the BBQ.

03.01.2022 Do you have an old water or gas line? There's a fair chance it could look like this. If it's your water line, the pressure will be low and you will be dragging all that rust build up through the pipes into your drinking water. If it's your gas line, the rust will be traveling through the pipes and blocking up all you gas appliances causing them not to work 100%....
