24.01.2022 POOL GATE LATCHES - MANUFACTURERS PRODUCT RECALLS Hi there to all our pool owners on the Sunshine Coast. Recently there have been two product recalls of pool latches for both glass gate and aluminium gate latches as notified by the ACCC and the Queensland Building and Construction Commission, the QBCC.... There is also another faulty latch recall pending as a result of a discovery during one of my inspections and subsequent testing and investigations. In all these cases there is a danger that the latches can be left in the unlocked position. 23.01.2022 Recently replaced the pool latch which was subject of a manufactures recall and certified the lovely pool at the River Esplanade Motel in Mooloolaba. 04.01.2022 So. You have just joined the Airbnb set and you let your house or part of your house with a pool via an online app. You are now making a little extra cash so good for you. It is a private home and you may think that this means you do not need a pool safety certificate, but I am afraid you will be wrong. The QBCC treats that as a rented accommodation and as such it must have a current pool safety certificate. I recommend that you get it sorted before your insurance company gets very awkward about any public liability claim.
