25.01.2022 Are you suffering from a runny or blocked nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, nose and mouth, as well as sinus pressure and pain? You may be suffering from hay fever. Hay fever is partially genetic and partially brought on by triggers including pollen, dust, dust mites, mould and pet hair. ... Try these tips to reduce the symptoms: * Avoid going outside when the pollen count is high * Keep windows and doors closed when the pollen count is high * Avoid grassy areas and mowing the lawn if your trigger is grass * Use a damp duster around home to stop spreading allergens * Keep pets out of the house when your symptoms flare up and wash them regularly * Dont smoke and avoid having smokers in your house * Put your pillow in the freezer overnight to kill dust mites * Wear protective items when the need arises: wrap around sunnies to protect your eyes, masks when mowing the lawn, and full cover clothing when outdoors Visit www.weatherzone.com.au to check todays pollen count and pollen forecast. 19.01.2022 Measles is a very contagious viral infection that can cause a rash and fever. In some cases, it can lead to hospitalisation and in severe circumstances, death. An increase in international measles cases means that travelers have the potential to spread the infection to unimmune members of our community. Vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect you from measles. The Department of Health recommends measles immunisation for: * children aged 12 months and 18 months, fo...r free under the National Immunisation Program * anyone born during or since 1966 who has not had 2 doses of the measles vaccine * people working in early childhood education, care facilities and healthcare, if they have not had 2 doses of the measles vaccine * people who are travelling overseas, if they have not had 2 doses of the vaccine.
