20.01.2022 Today we looked at our worm farm. We got dressed, developed our plan, and dove right in! Feeding our worms Providing shredded paper for warmth Giving the soil a pH check... These practical activities help us understand the process of 'vermicomposting'. That is, when worms convert organic materials (usually wastes) in order to increase plant growth and health. Unfortunately some worms were accidentally cut in half when we used shovels... so we fed them to the chickens!

17.01.2022 While exploring the orchard, we found a tree with a strange fruit on it. We had a think about what sort of fruit it was. Was it an apple? a peach? a red cucumber? an onion? a plum? We used a stick to cut open the fruit and discovered lots of pink seeds. It was juicy and tasted delicious... The answer: it was a pomegranate! We planted a lot of these seeds in a pot to see if they will grow back at the Centre.
