21.01.2022 Your sensory experiences shape what you do and how you live your life. Everything you see, feel, hear, smell, taste and touch sends information about the outside world to your nervous system. How this is interpreted is determined by your sensory processing systems. ... Sensory experiences are like food for the nervous system. They nourish us. Everyone however, has different sensory preferences and needs. Occupational therapists at Next Wave Therapy conduct sensory processing assessments to help people manage anxiety, manage pain, understand themselves better, build better coping skills and more. #NextWaveTherapy #occupationalTherapy #sensoryprocessing #sensoryprofile #sensoryassessment #painmangement #anxiety #spectrumdisorder See more

17.01.2022 Welcome to Next Wave ~ our reception staff are always happy to answer your questions and follow up your queries. They also have a magical way of making things happen, so be sure to ask for help. For example, ... ~ if you can't find an appointment in the online bookings - they may be able to talk directly with a therapist about squeezing you in to the diary. ~ if your struggling financially, they can discuss payment plans and other options that may be available to you. ~ if you want to be prioritised for a class time, let them know why and they will consider this when timetabling. ~ if your struggling with child care, they have been known to hold bub while you have a treatment. #NextWaveTherapy #NextWaveReception #PatientsComeFirst #Quality #Care #ReshapingLives Photo @SabineAlbers See more

04.01.2022 Meet Zoe Q1 What is important to you in therapy? "My main philosophy is 'what's important to you is important to me' - ... I want to know what my clients priorities are for therapy and what goals they are motivated towards achieving." 2. What has influenced you as a therapist in your life? " I volunteered at a camp for people with disabilities back in 2010 and was inspired by how the camp adapted activities such as water skiing to enable the participation of people of all abilities. It motivated me to want to be an OT and support people to reach their goals despite their illness, injury or disability. After completing my OT degree, I completed my yoga teacher training and I was inspired all over again, because I realised how yoga could be so effective in helping people to achieve their OT goals and reach their full potential." #NextWaveTherapy #OccupaitonalTherapy #NexrWaveOT #OTyoga #yoga See more

02.01.2022 Kambarang is here! This time of year Mamang (whales) migrate south down the West Coast of Australia. Over the next few months we welcome the returning of hot weather. Represented by the colour yellow, Kambarang is also when we see acacias and other yellow flowering plants bloom. One of the most striking displays of flowers to be seen during this season is the moojar, or Australian Christmas Tree (Nuytsia floribunda). It's bright orange-yellow flowers really remind u...s that heat is on its way. October is also the most likely time of the year that you'll encounter a snake, so watch out while your walking at the beach or in the bush. #Kambarang #6163 #ThisIsHilton #Fremantle #NextWaveTherapy #MoveThinkFeelAlive See more
