25.01.2022 Starting in small business at 28 following a goal made when I was 10 years old, the next 14 years I immersed myself in small business, tendering for under-performing businesses in local government or state government leaseholds, building them into thriving enterprises with stable leases and then selling. After 8 businesses, I was enticed into the community sector, becoming a GM for a sporting association. The next 5 years was challenging and immensely rewarding as we restruct...ured, re-branded and re-launched the facility as a corporate events facility with enormous success. This success was not just me, but also a fabulously dedicated team that developed from people who came with me from my businesses and those that I took on board. Deciding to embrace academia, post 40, I embarked on my MBA journey at UWA, honing my entrepreneurial focus and clarity, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate at Murdoch University in Health Leadership, Governance and Policy. During this time I was also working in a small business as well as a GM for a health-based NFP. Rounding off the degrees was a Rising Leaders program with LeadershipWA, providing an extensive network of corporate, not-for-profit and business leaders throughout Perth. Nexus Funds is the culmination of my entrepreneurial and community experiences supported by academic frameworks. The concept of bringing business and community together to create real social impact and change towards achieving the UN's 17 Sustainability goals is the driver behind Nexus Funds. 11.01.2022 Greenbatch A huge congratulations to Darren Lomman of Greenbatch who has just won the Community Award for Dreams For a Better World in Brisbane yesterday. https://dreamsforabetterworld.com.au/winners/2018 Never met a founder who put so much into a project. The $30k will enable the roll out of the Schools plastic recycling program to more schools on the road to achieving a 300 school network.

06.01.2022 Working with small businesses, startups and not-for-profits is one of the most rewarding roles to have. The respect I have for people who are putting everything on the line to launch a new product and the NFP GM who is 100% invested and passionate in their organisation's mission makes me want to show up with the best version of myself everyday.
