14.01.2022 Here's the latest straight off the Australian Hotel's Association website. "Easing of Some Restrictions from 1 December The State Government has just announced ...the easing of SOME restrictions from 1 December. It is expected that these will remain in place for 2 weeks. From Tuesday 1 December, the following applies: All patron caps for licensed venues will be removed. This will be conditional on licensed venues using QR Digital Technology in their venues. Indoor: density requirements will remain at 1 person per 4 square metre. All indoor consumption must still be seated. Outdoor: density requirement is 1 person per 2 square metres and stand up consumption is permitted outdoors." What this means is that we are STILL limited to 100 people in our venue. This is why our Bistro remains closed until next Tuesday and seats are extremely limited even though our normal licensed capacity is over 1,000 people. Please understand that this situation is not of our doing and if you come in to this venue and abuse my staff because you don't know the rules, you will be told to leave the premises. If you choose to not leave we will call the Police and have you charged with refusing to leave a licensed premises.

14.01.2022 Yes, you too can look this cool in a #bigfreeze7beanie and by supporting this cause you may even feel as happy as Deb! Just $20 will see you set for this weekend’s wintery weather. Send us a message if you’d like one. #fightmnd #allthefeels

13.01.2022 Did you know that egg cartons can go in your green bin? They are made from recycled, low grade paper and cardboard which is great for composting. Use egg cart...ons to line the bottom of your green bin to prevent food and garden organics sticking to the bottom of the bin. Find out more http://ow.ly/fb5S50EWs52

13.01.2022 Yesterday we held a Student Voice Summit were students from four different schools presented and shared ideas of environmental/sustainable projects they are doi...ng at their schools. The year 5/6 students shared projects that included recycling/waste management to reduce the amount of food scraps going into landfill, increasing biodiversity by planting native habitat to act as a windbreak and to attract insects and birds to control pests on their vegie garden. Other projects were in-ground wormfarm buckets, nude foods and insect hotels but also communication - how to share ideas and experiences outside of school. We then played a few games, e.g. 'How healthy is your gumtree? and 'Waste no more' and had a visit from the Waste Management Officer from The Barossa Council to talk about ways to reduce waste and how to recycle as much as possible. We spoke about sustainability and how everything is connected and how everything we do on a small scale can have a ripple effect and change things on a large scale. To finish the day we spoke about Green Bins that will be introduced in the Barossa from July and built a small scale compost. The kids certainly had fun putting animal manure on the heap! The children had fun and even us adults learnt quite a bit along the way. If you want to get involved and have a Voice, talk to a teacher at your school, contact the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board or come and visit us at the Bushgardens for more information.

12.01.2022 Thanks for the update Chris
