10.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of our Elders You are the keepers of our cultural knowledge, our leaders and our teachers. NAC acknowledges all the Elders past and present who persevered in a vision that is to the benefit and empowerment of our Ngarluma people. Thank you for sharing your stories, your wisdom and having great strength and resilience throughout the hard times. We, the Ngarluma people, would not be recognised as the custodians of our ngurra if it werent for all our Elders standing together to fight for future Ngarluma generations.

10.01.2022 The Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation is committed to ongoing improvements at our pastoral stations (Mt Welcome and Karratha) that are essential for animal welfare and the safety of travellers on the North West Coastal Highway. Over the last few months 10 new water points and approximately 15 kilometres of fencing have been installed at a cost of around $150 000 to the Corporation. Fencing only completed last week has already been senselessly cut by people seeking unauthorised... access to these pastoral lands. This action puts people at risk as well as animals who are then free to roam from water points and on to roadways. We would ask that people contact the NAC office on 9182 1351 or present to the Station Manager, Andrew Cabassi at the Karratha Station homestead for permission before venturing on to the stations. If anyone sees this activity we would also ask that you report it to the NAC office, with photos where possible on [email protected] as the Corporation will seek to prosecute any offenders. This is for the safety of all people and animals and we thank you for your consideration in advance.

10.01.2022 We believe our research confronts a significant cultural boundary that - apologies aside - political leaders have failed to address. We cannot undo the past, but we can acknowledge that these events are part of both Aboriginal and white histories they are real and Aboriginal people still suffer the pain of the past. Of all outcomes from this project, an email from a resident of the Balgo community gave the most hope for the future. The correspondent concluded by saying thank you for contributing to bringing some closure to my friends. We ask little more than for archaeologists and scientists working with Aboriginal descent groups to achieve a level of closure, no matter how small, for the descendants of this and similar places of atrocities committed on the Australian frontier.

08.01.2022 On Monday the 1st of July the MSU funding will be topped up and the NAC office will be experiencing very busy periods. Please be patient with staff who will be dealing with a lot of calls.
