16.01.2022 Today is my last post for NGO Recruitment I am moving to another organisation, still based in the city and I will likely pop up again on Facebook in due course. I thank all of you so much for your support and spreading the message about fostering in your communities. From this, we have spoken to over 2000 people and now 110 + people are moving through the process to become carers and quite a number already have placements (thanks for letting me know, I get very excited w...hen I hear it is going well) A last ‘Welcome to our New Likers’; the shout today goes out to Sundarbon, Jasmin, Lorena, Zoran, Kym-Michelle, Tamara, Sarah, Tamara Ann, Jemma, and Fiona. The need for foster carers in our community is sadly increasing. In Australia, we are likely to hit the 40,000 mark: this is the number of children each year in out-of-home-care which includes foster care, kinship or relative care and residential care. My wish would be that one day we could live in such a world where we didn’t need foster care, but until we do I whole heartedly, and with much respect, thank all you brilliant people out there keeping children safe and loving them with everything you’ve got. You are the biggest unsung heroes in our society, hats of to you.. So pip-pip to the peeps, keep well and happy and have a brilliant day! Cheers, Deanne Carroll
