25.01.2022 'Rose myrtle' flowers and fruit. Great for understory planting and bushfood. Will tolerate a sunny location as long as there is shade from the west in the afternoon.

23.01.2022 Psychotria loniceroides - Hairy psychotria Also known as Turkey berry. Hardy understory shrub. Adaptable to dry sandy soils but prefers a damp location out of the wind, with dappled sunlight. Edible and refreshing (although quite tasteless) juicy berries produced in abundance August to March.

20.01.2022 Acmena smithii - Lillypilly Ficus coronata - Creek sandpaper fig Easy to grow, great for along waterways to prevent erosion caused by flooding. Once mature both will produce large quantities of edible fruit. Great for rehabilitating natural habit in depleted areas, such as cow paddocks.

16.01.2022 NAIDOC 2020 Ngulingah plants will be available for sale. Look out for our stall.

14.01.2022 In conjunction with the Nursery we are also establishing a bushfood garden for future seed security and education purposes. Pecans from previous owner have provided cover for pioneer trees, to avoid any damage to the now established regen plants I carefully dropped this one into the neighbouring tree.

14.01.2022 Ngulingah Bush Tucker plants awaiting pickup and express freight to Melbourne Vic.

12.01.2022 Red Ceder Toona ciliata Due to the Red ceder tip moth that stunts the growth of these legendary trees, growing giant red ceders is now mission impossible. However it never hurts to try! Ngulingah Rangers will be planting red ceder along the bottom of the deep rainforest gullies at Nimbin rocks in a bid to avoid the moth that is common in open areas. With the minuscule number of mature full size trees remaining, even just one tree making it up to the canopy would be amazing.

10.01.2022 Cobun bun Acmena ingens - Red apple. Medium sized subtropical tree, young leaves bright are orange/red, masses of sour fruit on mature trees suitable for flavouring preserves, jellies and jams. Hardy grower, able to be shaped for hedging and tolerates both low light and full sun.

08.01.2022 Blue lillypilly - Syzygium oleosum. Thick bushy shrub when young, maturing into a medium height tree with large spread. Useful in the garden for creating cover, hedging and bushtucker.

07.01.2022 Planting day at Goolmangar school. Bushfood garden and yarning circle for teaching language and sharing culture.

07.01.2022 Pecan logs (Hickory) available! $50 per trailer load. Message us to arrange pickup.

05.01.2022 Tinospora tinosporoides, Arrow head vine. Full of phytochemicals, medicinal vine. Not currently in our stocks, seeking more info. We got id from the seed but ideally would like to get a look up in the canopy, to be sure.
