23.01.2022 Exciting developments, a business card to give to our guests and friends. Know someone stressed and needing a break? Don’t keep Ngurra to yourself, share the love. Fantastic rates for the amenities but the views and surroundings are priceless

20.01.2022 A big thank you to film maker Bill Code for his creation of this fantastic image. The photography was captured using a drone

19.01.2022 Recently we made available for sale in Ngurra, a honey, taken from beehives on the property. And today I proudly let guests know that our homemade homegrown marmalade is for sale at$5 a jar.

13.01.2022 Dear guys if the corona virus is derailing your getaway plans think about a little local mini break at Ngurra. Rest assured all bedding and towels are washed with antibacterial soaker and hot water between guests and we assiduously wipe down surfaces with antibacterial sprays. Antibacterial spray is available for the use of guests. Hunker down, with our dvds or your favourite programs recorded on a USB or go for a bush walk on the property.

11.01.2022 When we named our little guest house Ngurra it was to honour the Darug people of Hawkesbury Nepean basin, in whose language Ngurra means Birdsnest. It seemed fitting as we are lucky to have a great bird population around the cottage. However I discovered this definition , on the website. https://www.artnewsportal.com//ngurra-home-in-the-ngaanyat Ngurra, in the spoken languages of the Ngaanyatjarra people of the Western Desert, translates roughly to ‘home.’ However, the term... is far more complex than the definition offered by a simple translation. Ngurra means Country, camp, birthplace and belonging, but it is a term which is expansive and inclusive, it has nuance and inflection, and has collective and individual resonances depending on context. Ngurra can be where you camp for the night, or where you belong forever. Ngurra is also, always, about other people: it encompasses the relations both historic and contemporary between people and the places that define them. What a wonderful serendipitous discovery, I couldn’t hope for a more succinct explanation of what I hope our little Ngurra embodies .

10.01.2022 Wow, today guys are installing reverse cycle air conditioning in Ngurra. We thought long and hard about the ramifications and are installing a solar system to offset the environmental impact. We may need to increase the tariff slightly to cover the costs.

01.01.2022 Ngurra goes eco! The cottage has now been outfitted with solar panels. A dongle has been added to provide wifi access for guests.
