07.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to NH ARCHITECTURE on winning the 2018 LAND ART GENERATOR INITIATIVE design competition for their project ‘LIGHT UP’. The team included RMIT Arc...hitecture alumni, sessional staff, and RMIT Architecture students: Martin Heide, Dean Boothroyd, Emily Van Monger, David Allouf, Takasumi Inoue, Liam Oxlade, Michael Strack, Richard Le (NH Architecture); Mike Rainbow, Jan Talacko (Ark Resources); John Bahoric (John Bahoric Design); Bryan Chung, Chea Yuen Yeow Chong, Anna Lee and Amelie Noren (RMIT Master of Architecture Students). Here are some photos of the awarding and exhibition opening ceremony at Deakin Edge, Federation Square held on Thursday 11 October, 2018. Presentations were given by Elizabeth Monoian and Robert Ferry (Land Art Generator Initiative, Founding Co-Directors) and Simon Corbell (Victorian Renewable Energy Advocate). Awards were given by Jill Garner (Victorian Government Architect). The RMIT Master of Architecture students were involved in the project that was led by NH Architecture through the RMIT Master of Architecture Practice Research Elective led by NH titled, ‘Energy Overlays’. The elective was led by RMIT Architecture industry staff members Dean Boothroyd and Martin Heide (NH Architecture) who suggested that with Melbourne’s population expected to surpass 7 million people by the year 2050, Victoria is setting an example for the world with a goal of zero carbon emissions. In this context it is vital to understand and speculate what renewable energy infrastructure looks like when it is woven within the fabric of the city. The Land Art Generator Initiative 2018 (LAGI) was sponsored by the State of Victoria as part of Action 13 of the Victoria State Renewable Energy Action Plan, the free competition open to landscape architects, engineers, artists, designers, and other international renewable energy enthusiasts encouraged participants to envision a clean energy landscape for a post-carbon worlda public artwork that will help to power the city and inspire the future. Hundreds of people from more than 50 countries around the world submitted proposals for large-scale works of public art capable of producing clean energy for the St Kilda Triangle. The exhibition will be open until October 17, 2018 at Federation Square. Read more about the project via LAGI: https://bit.ly/2CBgZEt Image Credits: RMIT Architecture Culture Capture

03.01.2022 A great day down at The Glen for the NH Team. Still a ways to go for the project, but the stage 3 opening was a major milestone for all involved.

02.01.2022 It's a Sydney favourite and now it's headed to Melbourne.
