25.01.2022 LADIES Don’t forget to come along to Ranelagh tonight at 6:00pm!

24.01.2022 B GRADE After a couple of horror games, the North Huon Warriors put in a much better show against Blackmans Bay at Shark Park last Saturday. Captain Kyle Paul won the toss and elected to bat, newcomer Henry Fox heading out to open with Mateo Paolini. The top order all made solid contributions, Paolini (10) the first to go in the 12th over, caught and bowled Brad Sutherland. Fox and Paul then teamed up for 10 overs, Paul hogging the strike and top-scoring again, 47 off 34 ball...s, including five fours and two sixes, before Wayne Quinn had him, clean bowled. Quinn then saw off Fox (26), but Dan Partridge made a very handy 38 and Jayden Appleby also contributed with 24 at the bottom of the order. It was great to see Broughton Chapman (6) get the monkey off his back with some runs to his name, his hard work at training finally showing on game day. The Warriors were all out in the 44th over for 181. It was Paul and Appleby with the new ball, the pair not giving much away, and claiming both openers inside eight overs. Paul (1/28) seeing off Whetlor for a 14-ball duck, caught George Halliday, and Appleby (3/33) clean bowling Turner for six. Nine of the Warriors turned their arm during the afternoon, and Zac Berry (2/50) and Theo Meredith (1/19) were also able to capture wickets. With Berry also running out Goodwin (10), the Sharks were fast running out of batsmen, but they passed the total in the 40th over, and took the victory by two wickets. See more

20.01.2022 B GRADE The North Huon B Grade side took on the Summerleas Eagles at Ranelagh Oval last Saturday, in another tough day for the Warriors. The Eagles’ Mohit Sharma (5/23) and Aryan Dubey (4/9) had a field day, and it was Extras which contributed most to the Warriors’ total of 59, all out in the 31st over.... Jayden Appleby (3/27) did a great job with the ball, but the Eagles were not challenged, and they passed the total in the 12th over, winning by seven wickets.

19.01.2022 C GRADE The North Huon Warriors C Grade side headed to Lightwood Park last Sunday to take on one of the two Summerleas Eagles C Grade sides, which are dominating the C Grade competition so far this season. Featuring four Terry members, Brad, Jai, Shayla and AJ, and two Pauls, captain Kyle and younger brother Charlie, the Warriors won the toss and elected to bat. Zac Duggan (18) and Kyle Paul (22) had a 27-run opening partnership, to get the Warriors off to a good start, befor...e Duggan became one of man-of-the-match Patchpatel Vijaybhai’s (2/42) victims, caught Yogeshkumar Patel. George Halliday (54) then came to the crease and brought up his first half century for the season, placing the ball well and cleverly running between the wickets, pushing for some particularly sneaky singles towards the end of his innings. Joe Davis also made a handy 24, but it was Ryan Jager who drew the most cheers from the Warriors fans, as the young recruit christened his new Kookaburra Kahuna with an outstanding 28, including three boundaries, only run out in the last over as he tried to get himself on strike for the final delivery. Charlie Paul (one not out) also made a cameo appearance at the end of the innings, confidently playing the anchor role for Jager. The Warriors set a defendable 7/179 off their 50. The Summerleas batsmen were always going to be a formidable opposition, and it was a determined Kyle Paul and Davis who took up the new pill, with Davis capturing the Warriors’ first wicket, clean bowling Siddharth Gor (15). Ryan Jager (1/50) continued his good form with the bat when he came in at first change, clean bowling Arsh Mehta (25), but, unfortunately, this brought the match winning Vijaybhai to the crease. Vijaybhai played an impeccable innings, finishing unbeaten on 86 off 62 balls, with 16 boundaries, including two sixes, as the Eagles passed the total in the 39th over, five wickets down. Zac Duggan (1/32) and Brad Terry (1/21) were the Warriors other wicket takers. See more

19.01.2022 NORTH HUON WARRIORS A GRADE Another Warriors wedding on Saturday saw a very young Warriors A Grade side take on Blackmans Bay at Ranelagh Oval in Round 10 of the HCCA 50 over roster. Sharks captain Chris Hevey won the toss and elected to set a total in humid conditions, heading out to the centre with fellow opener Kristian Nikolai to take on the Warriors opening bowlers, Bevan Roberts and Josh Stevenson. It didn’t take long for Hevey to get going, grabbing the first of his 1...Continue reading

18.01.2022 ROUND 2 Regrouping, and welcoming Pitt back into the side, the Warriors took on Slab Road in Round 2. Slab Road captain Corey Polley won the toss and elected to bat, heading out to the centre with the evergreen Dan Walter to open. Stevenson again took the new ball, shaking the Roadies by dismissing both openers for no score within the first over, Pitt taking a good catch to see Polley off, Walter clean bowled, the Roadies 2/1 after the first over. Harry Thomas (24) and Matt C...ane (36) steadied the ship for the Roadies, until Armstrong came in, sending them both packing within the 10th over, Thorpe taking the catch to send Thomas packing and Bevan Roberts providing the safe hands to see off Cane. This was followed by a Roadies batting collapse, the remaining six wickets falling for just 26 runs, Matt Coulson (15) the only other real contributor, the Roadies all out for 90 in the 19th over. Armstrong had a field day, claiming 4/23 off his four overs, with Stevenson 2/20, Fletcher 2/15 and Thorpe 2/16 the other wicket takers for the Warriors. Needing just over 4.5 runs an over, the Warriors were able to play it safe, and opener Sam Roberts (40) racked up almost half the runs required before he was dismissed by James Zeitzen through a catch to Nathan Duggan. Phil Woolley (12) and Adam Crowe (16) also made valuable contributions, the Warriors home in the 17th over, four down. Thomas (2/27), Zeitzen (1/7) and Walter (1/8) were the Roadies wicket takers. 09.01.2022 Well done Huon Valley Community Bank Branches!

08.01.2022 C GRADE The North Huon C Grade side headed to Lightwood Park to face ladder-leaders, Summerleas Eagles 1, last Sunday. David Bourne won the toss and sent the Eagles in to bat, hoping to get some early breakthroughs and utilise the plentiful young bowling options available. That contentious call was made before realising the Warriors would be playing two key players short as a result of a communications mix up.... Ryan Jager (2/45) made an early breakthrough, cleaning up the stumps of opener Hassan (20). The Eagles steadily compiled runs, targeting their short mid-wicket boundary. Awal (82) and Ahmed (106) posted big scores, as the Eagles went on to a total of 6/310. Joe Davis (1/42) and Bourne (2/40) were the other wicket takers. With only nine batters the target was always going to be tough, and Chahal (2/15) sent Bourne and Davis back to the sheds early. Dean Harriss (28) offered some resistance, and Ryan Jager (10) batted patiently. A late cameo from Brad Terry (18 not out) helped the Warriors beat B Grade's score from the day before, all out in the 25th over, 8/75. See more

07.01.2022 A GRADE The North Huon Warriors A Grade side started 2021 on a winning note against the Kettering Mariners in another game that came down to the wire. Winning the toss, the Warriors elected to set a total on what proved to be a slower than expected Kettering Oval....Continue reading

04.01.2022 The North Huon Cricket Club has finalised its captaincy appointments in the higher grades for the season, which will see Josh Stevenson again take on leadership of the A Grade side, supported this year by Phil Woolley in the vice captain role. Having stepped aside from the the coaching aspect this year, to be able to remain Josh's experience in the captaincy role provides a great mix with the coaching roles fo Brad Pitt and Adam Crowe, and capping off a great first year at the club last year sees Phil take on a leadership role. Andy Crowe will look after the B Grade side this year, and will be looking to transition the players and results from his Under 16 coaching success last year into this grade.

03.01.2022 A GRADE The North Huon Warriors A1 side headed to Sherburd Park to play an amped up Blackmans Bay Sharks, who were celebrating 10,000 club runs for Damien Minehan and 300 club games for Nathan Walton. Warriors captain Josh Stevenson won the toss and elected to bat, but it wasn’t long before Walton (2/31) showed his experience, dismissing Warriors’ favourite Brad Pitt (9) in just his second over, through a catch to Steve O’Brien.... Sam Roberts (24) and Phil Woolley (25) then teamed up for a 30 plus run partnership before Woolley became Walton’s second victim, fellow milestone maker Minehan taking the catch. Adam Crowe (17) and Shane Fletcher (20) made handy contributions before Kristian Nikolai (3/20) tempted Crowe out of his crease, stumped Chris Hevey, and Huonville Lions half back Callum Rawson forced the edge from Fletcher, caught James Hortle. Stevenson, coming in at seven, took about five overs to get going, but once he got his eye in, he played a superb innings, racking up five fours and two sixes. In a captain’s knock, Stevenson (45 not out) top-scored for the Warriors, but unfortunately ran out of partners, the Warriors all out for 177 in the 49th over. In reply, it took more than 11 overs for the Warriors to make a breakthrough, Bevan Roberts (1/42) dismissing Hevey, through a catch to Pitt. It was the 10,000 run man, Minehan, who did most of the damage for the Sharks though, finishing 72 not out, Blackmans Bay cruising to victory in the 34th over, three down. Tyler Cowen (1/15) and Baydon Armstrong (1/24) were the other Warriors’ wicket takers.
