23.01.2022 A safety message to all our seniors in Frankston! 1. Keep a first aid kit in the house and ensure everyone knows where it is. 2. Keep a list of emergency numbers near all your phones.... 3. Lock all entry points to your house, garage and sheds to make it harder for burglars to break-in. 4. When taking public transport (buses or trams) get on at the front door and ask the driver to wait while you sit down. 5. Don’t be rushed into making a decision when buying a product or service. Ask a friend or family member to review a contract or other information about a product or service, prior to committing to it. Feel free to send us a message if you have any questions.

22.01.2022 This news should reaffirm what we already know - to always be vigilant when dealing with our personal and financial information on the internet. Be vigilant, always.

21.01.2022 OPERATION UPHOLD During July ‘Operation Uphold’ saw an increased police presence in the Frankston CBD, Bayside Shopping Centre and the Railway Station, created ...to put a address anti-social behaviour in the area. Acting Sergeant Julia Starkey said "the operation begun in an effort to make people feel safer in their community and to be able to go about their business in peace. They were feeling fearful around the CBD in relation to young people behaving poorly. We focused on a high visibility approach with a saturated police presence over several days, involving uniform and transit members". Police have received great feedback from the community and retailers, and the results speak for themselves with 13 arrests and 40 penalty notices issued.

10.01.2022 This is a very important service for the community to be aware of. If your issue isn't life threatening, the new police helpline will be of great assistance without using emergency resources.

06.01.2022 Setting off flares without a permit is illegal and a waste of emergency resources. At 10:53pm last Friday night a flare was set off in Frankston. Water police were notified, and a search of the nearby beach determined that there were no boats in distress. Flares should only be used for boats in distress. The time spent responding to this alleged hoax distress call was time not spent on real emergencies.

04.01.2022 Today may be the last day of summer but the high temperatures look likely to stick around for a while yet. So, it can never be stressed enough: please don't lea...ve kids or pets in hot cars, even if you'll only be gone for a few minutes, even if they're asleep. Temperatures inside a car can more than double within 10 minutes. Even if you've had the air-conditioning running or leave the window open a crack, it makes very little difference. If you have to leave your car, make sure to take your kids with you on your errand, and keep your pets at home where they can stay cool and have access to water. If you see a child or a pet locked inside a hot car, call Triple Zero (000) immediately. Let's watch out for each other.

02.01.2022 At our recent Neighbourhood Watch Vic Forum, one of the guest speakers was Rosanna from NBN. Some points she spoke about were; Between Jan-May this year, $110,...000 on average each month was lost to scams. In 2018, average losses were around $38,500, an increase of nearly 300%. 100 calls a day to NBN are about scams. Common types of NBN scams are; 1)Gaining remote access to computers Scammers pretending to be from NBN claiming there are problems with your computer. The scammers use the rouse to gain remote access to the victims computer to; *Steal personal information *Install malicious software *Demand payment to fix the problem 2)Signing victims to fake accounts. 3)Phishing Scammers impersonating NBN advising them that they are entitled to a new router then ask for personal information. Protect yourself from Scammers 1)The NBN will never make unsolicited calls or door knocks to sell broadband services. 2)The NBN may contact you but never ask for payment. 3)They may call individuals with medi alarms but do not ask for payment. 4)The technicians carry EnAble I.D cards. 5)The NBN do not have automated calls, also known as ‘robocalls’. If you hear a robocall upon answering your phone, hang up straight away.
