02.01.2022 East Killara - Hazard Reduction Update The Rocky Creek Hazard Reduction, near East Killara is still underway. After a hive of activity today with many trucks... and helicopters setting in the burn, a full perimeter containment has been achieved. The burn will progress overnight and slowly reduce the fuels in the middle of the burn boundaries. Smoke will settle in nearby areas overnight, keep your windows closed to keep smoke out of your residence. Killara Brigade will maintain patrolling the perimeter overnight and into the weekend. Call 000 if you see unattended fire.
