24.01.2022 A mothers heartbreak and plea for change. Speak even if your voice shakes , and share this post in memory of the children who weren't heard. The loss of Lauren has shattered and devastated our family.... As parents, we thought we were doing everything right by our children, and tried daily to do our best. Since Lauren's death on Mothers Day, and subsequent thourough investigation, we now know how far the cumulative effect of systematic failure contributed. Numerous attempts over the last two years were made to help Lauren. We had difficulty navigating and accessing mental health support for children, especially in regional areas. We would like to address the conjecture from the community regarding bullying. Lauren suffered the same level of bullying that any girl of her age does- which is still unacceptable. Lauren had a greater sadness than any of us could fathom, which spiralled and deepened. Lauren's sweet, strong, kind, quick witted, creative and beautiful soul struggled to shine in this world that is ever increasingly cruel and relentless. It is our wish that the world could have more peace, kindness and generosity towards one another - starting with our own community. It’s our responsibility to improve the human race mentally AND environmentally so that we all can shine instead of suffer. Love from Rachelle - Laurens Mum.

19.01.2022 Please lock your car!! Recently there has been an increase in the Wagga and surrounding areas of steal from motor vehicle offences. A significant number of these thefts have involved unlocked cars. In one instance the thief located a garage door remote and was able to open the garage door and gain access to the garage.... When you leave your car unattended please lock it. Even if you park it in your drive-way - lock it!! Thieves take every opportunity to steal from you and an unlocked car is a great opportunity for them.

10.01.2022 Please share help us to help you. Did you know that Neighbourhood Watch NSW is the only state crime prevention organization to receive no financial support from their own state government ? NHW NSW Inc. is self funded and covers the insurances for all of the registered groups across the State. For over 35yrs Neighbourhood Watch has been the communities number one in the education of crime prevention.... Several years ago NHW was nearly just a memory (second lowest memberships other than Torres Straight Islands) as it just about vanished in NSW, whilst other States and Territories flourished. BUT the tide has turned since the inception of the NHW NSW INC organization headed up by a couple of Hunter Valley locals David Watmore & myself have invested time and effort to get NSW back into the number 2 spot in the Nation. Please share this to assist a great organization with $0 funding and run by thousands of volunteers within your neighbourhood See more

03.01.2022 This is disgraceful Please share Yesterday morning early our house and garage in Wagga were broken into by children, our mobility scooters and personal belongings were stolen and our scooters were vandalised making them inoperable, being old age pensioners we were not insured and that in itself is a burden, we do not drive and our scooters were a lifeline to many services and now that has been taken away, amongst the items stolen were keys to the house which necessitates chan...ging locks and it appears that our mobility scooters were the targets because the house had to be entered to find the ignition keys. The police were called and a neighbour had CCTV images of the thieves driving away past his house, a key card was stolen and a mobile phone, the key card had been activated within an hour and again CCTV had colour images of 5 children making a purchase at Coles. The police did pick up a 12 year old boy for questioning and the matter will go no further. We did get back our scooters both had been vandalized and the SIM card from the mobile was stolen and is being used in another mobile. Why we were targeted remains the question I am too old to accost any intruder no matter how young and the matter has left my wife traumatized as she is in poor health and recovering from a broken knee cap and broken ribs follow a fall, what sort of a society have we ended up with when children can commit such crimes with impunity. 01.01.2022 Three kids have taken their own lives in the riverina in the last month alone! 3 children, gone forever... let that sink in! 12 years old 14 years old 17 years old ... Teach your kids that their words can cut deeper than a knife can. Teach your kids that bullying is not acceptable, not at school, not in public and not online. Teach your kids that it is impossible to know what other people are going through in their lives, so always be kind to everyone. Teach your kids about compassion, empathy, understanding. Teach your kids about solidarity, teach them about what can happen if people come together and work together for the greater good. Teach your children to come to you, to reach out to you, to confide in you if they are struggling & teach them to be confident in the fact that you will always be there. And most importantly.... Hold your children a little bit tighter, hug them a little bit longer & remind them that they are never alone, make sure they know that they are loved, supported & that the world is a better place because they are in it. 3 children lost this month, is 3 children to many Numbers to call and chat online Lifeline 13 11 14 Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800 Suicide Call Back Service 1300 659 467 Murrumbidgee AccessLine 1800 800 944 In an emergency 000 See more
