21.01.2022 in 2015, six years ago, Annabel Crabb wrote in the Sunday Age: "I am a feminist because it bothers me that (in Australia) a woman gets killed by her male partner every single week, and somehow that doesn't qualify as a national crisis even though if a man got killed by a shark every week we'd probably arrange to have the oceans drained.' Six years and this is still happening? ... My head hurts...I am so tired of "conversations" and "awareness raising". I am SO aware of family violence, child abuse, mental health issues, suicide, addiction...I am so aware it hurts. The pain I feel every single time we hear of a woman's death at the hands of an intimate partner, or a child killed by a parent, a suicide of a young person (any suicide), another Aboriginal death in custody... There are so many incredibly resourceful organisations DOING amazing work, but our government just TALKS. The last things we need are more Royal Commissions that result in a list of recommendations that are NEVER implemented. Stop talking......actions speak louder than words.... #ActionNotWords #enoughtalkingalready

19.01.2022 An interesting update from VLGA - Victorian Local Governance Association Inc , talking about IBAC Sandon which greatly affects Casey and the broader Local Government system. How can we learn and move on from this? As someone who has expressed a desire to serve my local community, I need to really understand relationships and how they are perceived and how they possibly affect decisions... There are so many lines that are easily crossed. Open and honest communication, accountability and integrity are key. Advocacy without integrity is not advocacy at all. https://youtu.be/1mnaKnYlEOM

16.01.2022 So I'm heading back to the work office tomorrow. Looking forward to it because I think it will help me move back into a more structured routine, which I need to continue doing all the things! Unlike these two, I'm not a big lover of lying around. I'm always doing something.... I'm also looking forward to reconnecting with my colleagues face to face...I miss that so much!

16.01.2022 I sat in on some wonderful gender equality training today preparing for my participation in the Gender Equality Taskforce. Such a great group of people with incredible breadth of lived experience. I'm so grateful to be able share in the stories and undertake this training to get ready for change!

12.01.2022 So beautiful. #MusicIsLife #ArtsMatter

07.01.2022 During COVID, I have spent many glorious hours engrossed in my latest knitting or stitching project(s) and the question often put to me is, "But what do you do with it when it's finished?" Truth is, you dont have to have a purpose for anything, and often the act of doing, losing yourself in creating something of beauty is enough.

05.01.2022 Happy to talk to Jessica Longbottom on ABC news this evening about safety for women and gender diverse people in our communities. Keep an eye out tomorrow for the launch of #YourGround, download and register your experiences, to inform planning and design decisions!

03.01.2022 I have been so very blessed to have witnessed the development of this book closely, following it as it started out as a germ of an idea to where it is now, not just a book, but a life gift itself. A definite must read for everyone. Congratulations Renée Giarrusso-Leadership and Communication Expert I am so looking forward to reinforcing what I've learnt from you over the years.... You can pre-order your copy just like I did, here https://majorstreet.com.au//gift-mindset-br-i-small-by-ren

02.01.2022 The AFL is obviously not ready for women in coaching roles. Lisa Alexander is an incredibly talented coach - and wasn't provided the opportunity to interview - will be interesting to see who the role goes to. https://www.theage.com.au//i-can-do-it-lisa-alexander-appl
