19.01.2022 I signed up for 1000 Mbs download / 500 Mbs upload speeds yesterday after querying my Fibre speed which was only performing 100 down / 30 up in Auckland, NZ. (which by most contemporary standards is terrific) in Auckland. To my surprise Vodafone immediately flipped a switch and told me it would gradually increase over then next few days to 1000 Mbs down and 500 Mbs up. If this can be done in NZ, it begs the question.did the Australia Telco's and government screw up. Is th...e NBN a failure in Australia? Lately (Since June 2017) we and our Australian customers have also observed a serious deterioration in the lead times by Telcos in Australia (not to name them, but T, O, and Ayou know the prime providers) for service implementation and commissioning. We get what seems to be an endless set of excuses, most blaming NBN control.limiting both service choice and extending installation lead times. Is this directly related to a lack of competition and a monopoly control dictated by NBN regulation?

14.01.2022 One of my pet peeves when using a laptops / tablets is the touch pad mouse....I never use them in favour of external mice. I hate them with a passion as they reduce my typing productivity.... For years I have been using an external traditional mouse with the touch pad enabled, causing frequent mouse farts and typos. Well decided I would finally do something about it besides colourful language rants....I thought I would share this in case there are others who stress levels r...ise because your mouse jumps out of where is supposed to be or you didn't know you don't have to tolerate the touch pad. :) Its a bit novice...but here is a video on how to disable / enable the touch pad on a Aspire V 13. https://www.bing.com/videos/search It will be a similar task with other brands and models.

07.01.2022 Dragging Internet Explorer Tabs around Ok so this might seem a little bit naive, but as an I.T. Guy every now and then you have moment of delight with a new feature you discover. Most of them we learn form users not manuals. In the case of dragging a TAB around, I decided to share my enlightenment, as it will give me immense increased productivity when it comes to using my computer as a user rather than a techie. ... I thought you might gain from it as well. Tabbed browsing has been around for years now and for most, they have probably already discovered this feature, however for those of you who have not....this is for you. Senerio: I have three screens attached to my computer and my productivity is increased by working on one screen and having referance material open on the other two screens. This saves me a large amount of time by reducing management of application windows. Problem: Well since tabbed browsing came out I have always had a pet-pieve with I.E. 7,8,9. This is because I had to open two instances of internet explorer to get one web page on one screen, and another instance of Internet Explorer to get another WEB page on another screen. This took time to launch Internet Explorer and often introduced hour glass time for the initial page to rendor or at least get to the point where I could start entering searches or URL addresses. You might say...it is only 5 - 30 seconds each time...but internet explorer something I use for everything. I am constantly in an out of it I would guessitmate almost a thousand times a day. Solution Little did I know it can be done from one in a second. Here how: Take your mouse, click / hold on tab and drag the tab away from its position. You can use this to arrange the order of tabs or to move an open website to another another screen.. simple....and fantasic.

04.01.2022 Preserve that battary use on your iphone...did you know that apps continue to run in background on your iphone and will continue to chew up the battary time even though it appears they are not running after swapping between apps. You can quickly reduce this usage by closing apps that are battary hungry such as navigators which use GPS.
