17.01.2022 Thousands of years of flash flooding through this canyon in northern Arizona have sculpted surreal shapes into the sandstone walls. This one reminds me of a red mesa, more commonly seen in the surrounding desert countryside.
16.01.2022 It’s high summer and the hay has been cut and rolled for silage.
15.01.2022 Waiotapu is located in the heart of the Taupo Volcanic Zone in the North Island of New Zealand. Geothermal features such as hot springs, geysers and mud pools abound. The Champagne pool receives its name from the streams of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide bubbles that are constantly rising through its waters. The waters are heated by volcanic activity to a scalding 75C at the surface. The bright orange colour is caused by toxic arsenic and antimony compounds that precipitate from the waters. The air is constantly filled with rising steam, rich with the smell of sulphur.
14.01.2022 A series of small sea stacks marching into the surf like a procession of penitents. This photograph was taken on Cemetery Beach near Narooma, New South Wales.
13.01.2022 This eastern grey kangaroo (Macropus giganteus) is enjoying a breakfast of tasty grass near the beach. Eastern grey kangaroos are ubiquitous across the south and east of Australia. Adults stand about 2 metres (6.5 feet) tall and weigh between 50 and 70 kg.
13.01.2022 Enjoying the scenery along River Road in the far south of New South Wales. The Victorian border is just to our right.
11.01.2022 The Blue Pool, set in the cliff front at Bermagui, New South Wales. The pool is a popular swimming spot for the more adventurous.
09.01.2022 This timber barn is long past its glory days. The fading colours of autumn and grey, cloudy skies seem to match the dilapidated structure perfectly.
07.01.2022 Glasshouse Rocks, located on Cemetery Beach near Narooma, New South Wales. The light is growing and the new day is not far off.
07.01.2022 Stanley is a small fishing and holiday village on the north coast of Tasmania. The town nestles at the base of a granite plug known as The Nut, the remnant of an eroded volcano. The Nut rises 143 metres (approximately 469 feet) above the water.
04.01.2022 Looking out through the golden light of sunrise to Montague Island, approximately 9 km off the coast of Narooma, New South Wales. The lighthouse was built in 1881 and can be seen 37 km out to sea.
04.01.2022 St Marks Anglican Church Woomargama, New South Wales. St Marks is part of the Holbrook parish and has been open for worship since May 1888.
