23.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has called, messaged, commented and prayed for us over the past 48 hours. Today we managed to feed our cows and calves and even get them in to be milked. It sure was an experience milking waist deep in water. Although the milk will be dumped, the relief for the cows is far more important. Amazingly all 160 cows were present at milking, I’m soo proud of them for hanging in there. We’ll be able to sleep better tonight knowing they are all safe. Still a long way to go to recovery. #2021flood

19.01.2022 Well today was another good day. The tanker picked up our milk for the first time in 8 days. Our production is down by more than 50% but we are working hard to get the girls back on track. We also had some very generous friends and family helping us over the past few days. We cannot thank you all enough, we appreciate all the support. Many thanks to the Yarrington family, Kippax family, Graham and Julie Bird, Karen and Carissa, @em_neilson2020 , Dennis and Marelle, Helen crisp, @coastal_oysters and many others that have donated their time to help us clean up. #2021floods #farmersownmilk #communitysupport @ Jones Island

15.01.2022 Such a wonderful organisation doing great things. We are very grateful of the hay we received today and our cows were even more grateful as they tucked into it for their dinner. Keep up the good work Mark and the Need for Feed team. #dairylove

10.01.2022 7 weeks ago this paddock and every other paddock was inundated with over 1m of water. Since then we have been busy planting and establishing our winter pastures and today is the first day the cows will start grazing the ryegrass which is looking the best it ever has. Looking forward to seeing all the extra milk in the vat and knowing all our hard work pays off. #farmersown #farmersownmilk #drinkthemilkyourfarmerdrinks #freshmilk #dairylove #dairyfarmer #dairylife #aussieag #thankafarmerforyournextmeal #australianfoodandfibre #familyfarm @ Jones Island

09.01.2022 Dropping some more paddocks for silage today. Should be another 80 bales here, sure beats buying a b-double load of hay! Not a bad office either #farmersown #farmersownmilk #drinkthemilkyourfarmerdrinks #freshmilk #dairylove #dairyfarmer #dairylife #aussieag #thankafarmerforyournextmeal #australianfoodandfibre #familyfarm #silage2020 #kubota #pasturesforprofit @ Jones Island

07.01.2022 Update: Sam has been able to find all the milking herd on the kayak and bring them in. The boys decided they needed a swim so they are freezing their butts off ...in the dairy. We love our beautiful girls so much and would do absolutely anything within our power to keep them well and healthy. They are pretty shaken up after the whole ordeal. Glad to get some food into them See more
