13.01.2022 Recording the Lurch album, 'Beyond Flatland', Produced by Nick Mainsbridge, taken to England after Nick's bout with television notoriety, it was a complex solundardenesque grunge work repeatedly described as 'a great second album'. Nick ended up in a love affair with Tibetan Buddhism, and England had moved on from grunge, so despite several offers to promote through Europe, circumstances intervened, and Nick kept the album in the can, but may release it soon. His years in Tibetan monasteries was also the reason he did not rejoin the Whitlams, when they broke out to become the biggest selling band ever in Australia. He had essentially formed the Whitlams, or least what they would soon turn into, with his brother Tim in the guise of 'the Olive Branch', a fact that has been airbrushed from Whitlams history.
11.01.2022 The great unheralded grunge band 'Lurch', onstage mid 90's in Sydney, Australia. The shoulder to Nick's right, is guitar wizard, Tim Van der Kiul, now musical director for Adele.
09.01.2022 Lurch onstage in London, during a tour of England.
09.01.2022 An early shot of Nick in his teens, playing alongside erratic songwriting & guitar legend Jeremy Oxley in the re-booted classic band, the Sunnyboys. Selected for the band after winning the Australian Classical Guitar Competition, playing right off to 1000s a night for 2 years next to the unpredictable but brilliant Oxley, a baptism by fire.
03.01.2022 'Nectar & Dirt', which is Nick going to town in his basement turning his PC into a fantasy full recording studio, has made this, its first published CD. As yet unpromoted, you can sample songs and buy the album on iTunes . With songs of great and wide-ranging lyrical scope & depth, it leaves 'No Stone Unturned'.
