25.01.2022 Kids can be honest. Some can be brutally honest. Others are just brutal. Going through my classroom today, I came across some old lesson plans from when I was a student teacher in a mainstream school. It was a year 4/5 class and the topic was 'Comics'. This particular lesson was about caricatures: A picture, description, or imitation of a person in which certain striking characteristics are exaggerated in order to create a comic or grotesque effect.... I don't mind making myself look a bit silly in front of a class (as part of the discovery of learning of course). So this class had full license to make a caricature of myself. Some of the results are below and I've got to say, class 4/5P, you nailed it! Tonight I release the caricatures from those that saw the more feminine side of me. Believe it or not, these are some of the 'nicer' ones.

16.01.2022 Hello and Welcome! Many of us are day dreamers living inside our heads. Over time I have noted some of these thoughts and ideas turning them into stories. Turns out my thoughts are a mixture of important social issues and childishness! Add this to my background of being a teacher for 13 years now, it makes a great combination for a children's author! 08.01.2022 As I prepare manuscripts, it's important to remember that not everyone is going to enjoy what I send. This photo of our little ones is proof of that. One so engaged and invested in the story and the other barely staying awake. One of our favourite pics. Everybody's response will be different and that's OK.
