22.01.2022 It is not enough just to teach self defence. Anyone can purport to do that. One must be the consummate professional; that is able to teach all of the little nuances, to capture a feeling, to understand a concept or principle and then apply it whilst making micro-adjustments based on feeling, intuition and real world experience. And it all needs to work under stress, in the crucible of reality, without conscious thought.

22.01.2022 We are very excited for this very special event!

21.01.2022 Well done tonight team

19.01.2022 Had an excellent 2 days teaching Defensive Tactics and Batons & Handcuffs to the NSW RSPCA Inspectorate. I have so much respect and admiration for these men and women, they do incredible work in sometimes very dangerous environments. They perform their duties alone, often with their only backup hours away, in radio black spots, with limited arms and appointments and training, and they deal with offenders with firearms in isolated rural areas. Absolutely amazing people.

17.01.2022 I’ve recieved a few enquiries about pressure-testing in our school. We are a FAST Defense Global Certified Training Centre (fastdefenseglobal.org). FAST is an acronym for Fear ... Adrenal Stress Training It is an unique training experience and pedagogy designed by my friend Bill Kipp in the USA. Bill is an ex Marine Scout Sniper Team Leader and pioneered Adrenal Response Training approx. 30+ years ago. FAST has been referred to as the missing link in Martial arts training. I am available to provide workshops and seminars to martial art schools. To enquire about a booking please contact [email protected]

08.01.2022 This is a technique I learned from RSM Bill Wolfe in Canada, and one which I’ve used on many occasions, both as a Police Officer and Security Officer, to sepera...te 2 subjects who are fighting. It’s never failed me. I approach the subject from behind and apply a masking technique, targeting the infraorbital nerve and gather an arm. Once I’ve taken their balance, I apply a nose crunch to take them down into a position of control, and immediately break tunnel vision by checking flanks. I ensure i’m communicating with the subject the entire time. It’s even more effective with a partner that approaches the other subject in the same manner from my 12 o’clock. It’s an open-handed technique (easily justifiable on the force continuum), and I use only as much force as is reasonably necessary to gain control in the situation. See more

03.01.2022 *** WARNING - Viewer discretion advised *** There's several takeaways from this video; 1) The real dangers of Chokes and Strangles (the victim died).... 2) Tapping out doesn't work. This victim was softened up by strikes and then choked unconscious. Severely. He was unable to defend against the choke so he tried Tapping Out. This did absolutely nothing to stop the offenders behaviour. Hope is not a strategy, and neither is Tapping Out. It is a requirement in sport and competition to avoid injury to your training partner. On the street it does not exist. You need other options. Fight on. 3) The dangers of continously training for sport engagements only. This develops a dangerous Stop/Start mentailty. You will be conditioned to do what you have always done when things get hard - Tap Out. This will get you killed. You need to be able to solve problems when shit and fan collide.

01.01.2022 Kapap pistol disarm. Once I clear the line of fire, I never cross it again. Everything works well when practised enough times in a dojo, but when you add the st...ress and variables of reality you often have a different experience. That is why it is important to seek a self defence instructor who’s had some operational experience and ensure you’re pressure-testing your martial arts training regularly against passive and aggressive non-compliant training partners. And when you’re defending against weapons, you must move with speed, surprise and explosive violence of action. You might not get a do-over. See more
