25.01.2022 Been a few years since I’ve done my London Metro weave. This is a hat but I think a scarf might be next on the shop loom. It is fun playing

24.01.2022 Time to start adding to this garment rack as there are gaps but still replenishing the scarf rack and replacing the hats that have gone to new homes. Will be weaving and sewing in my sleep me thinks Busy Summer but always have lots of pieces in @nickelbyslifeandstyle, Nickelby’s- the little shop around the corner in Yarragon. 17.01.2022 Well here we are again; take 4. Hopefully we are open next week. @nickelbyslifeandstyle little shop around the corner looked a little sad tonight as I locked the door but I’ve loaded up items to the online shop and I have a list a mile long to make this week so shall share and load up the website when finished for your viewing pleasure. 16.01.2022 Well I did it! Said I was going to reveal the 2021 Autumn Winter style this long weekend so here it is. These are the first two. 100% alpaca, hand spun, over 30 hours of work on each so there won’t be lots of them At a cheaper price point I will be going crazy with commercial yarns as well in this style. 15.01.2022 Decided to try something new this weekend. Hand spun alpaca with silks in a long narrower scarf. Love the way it shines and the blue grey tones work really well together. $135 for this unique piece

12.01.2022 Had a bit of a spin last night. Beehives, coils and thick & thins. Lots of fun and a bit more to do before into the dye pot they go and then woven into a top. This is Nickelby Alpaca so totally paddock to rack Thanks to my gorgeous animals for producing so much lovely fleece for me to play with. It is such fun

10.01.2022 Dah dah ! And it hit the dye pot tonight. Very happy with the results of the latest dying of my hand spun yarn shown in my previous post. With the heat tonight in Victoria it will be dry and ready for weaving tomorrow. As 3 of my continuous scarves have sold over the last two weeks this will end up being able to loop around your neck very soon

08.01.2022 Sold out of my ponchos so decided to make one with a different look as it seems we still love a poncho. Who would have thought this versatile piece would still be popular in 2021?

06.01.2022 The next farm grown, hand spun, hand dyed, hand woven piece in the range complete with wooden buttons. Gee these take hours to make but I do love them and they are admired by all. A couple have also found new homes. Hope this one does do. $399, DM for further details Cheers Angela

03.01.2022 A customer came in and loved my hats(having trouble keeping in stock as everyone loves them!) but she wanted orange to feature. This is what I came up with. Just sent her the photos and she loves it and is picking it up Monday. I actually love it and had my eye on it for me but as all my work is unique there goes that

02.01.2022 This I literally finished sewing on the button and label this morning after sewing last night and by 2.30 today it was sold! Had to grab it for a photograph before I wrapped it lol. So pleased with this one and will do more this size. It is the same as my popular jackets but shorter so a bit more like a shrug. I was very relieved that where I made the slit it turned out to be in the perfect spot the button from Germany fits perfectly ... Back to the loom as a hat has also found a home. 01.01.2022 This time of year my looms work overtime which I love. I have a vest at the sewing machine, a scarf on the shop loom and this hand spun weave on my larger loom. Trouble is, I planned to make something with this yarn. I worked out how much I had to spin and dye and wrote down on a scrappy piece of paper how much warp I had to thread, I just can’t remember what I planned to make So in true free form style, I will finish the weave, wash it up so it does it’s shrinking and see what I turn it into after that Must make a note to make better notes stay tuned I will share the finished creation

01.01.2022 Lovely to arrive home and find this little boy was born in the last couple of days. I was allowed a quick cuddle and I explained to him how he will be part of Nickelby Designs when he is a bit bigger just like his mum, Mary Poppins. I think he smiled
