19.01.2022 Imagine a meeting of brains at a table of the current leading social media and strength coaches within this country. When you scrolled through the table of contents and discussion points of that round table board meeting, would you see the market trends and correlate the discussion points with the reasoning as to why we continue to failure as a nation in regards to how we are preparing our athletes and general population ? I think so, we’ve got low entry costs to being in ...the industry and we’ve got low barriers to becoming a physical preparation coach or something to that effect. When the market is tragically dominant within the education of strength parameters and poor ones at that. And speed and endurance prioritised but very little education in regards to flexibility, injury prevention and ensuring the parameters set don’t fail the next generation of athletes an up an coming gym goers. I can tell you now walking on a most gym floors in commercial facilities you can see the dominant influences, the amount of people prioritising large complex movements, doing little to no flexibility, following trends such as powerlifting and bodybuilders when the education sector promotes the illusion that stretching is bad, abdominals are a waste of time and small muscles get worked during big movements, it’s not hard to see how the world has become broken and disillusioned with how many people aren’t reaching their true potential. When market leaders, promote the prioritisation of more strength training and develop the poor parameters set within the strength training environment, how long till we say enough is enough. Too many careers to much potential is being flushed down the toilet, to many teens who have been talent identified at a young age thrown under the wing of a college or university educated trainer and end up broken and never reaching their 20s without a significant knee, hip, back or shoulder related issue till we say, somethings not working here. The approach many take leave them on a railroad to disaster yet the rehabilitation market is growing because of the dominant influence of most social norms and individuals in this market space.

18.01.2022 When training our bodies create tension, tension can lead to inhibition if you don’t take into account what your current length, tension and stability is prior to making those decisions within the training environment. Your body then adapts to the new found tension and changes to function if the decision making around where we provide tension is and likewise if we don’t provide lengthening we see our body compensate for poor function which leads to injury. When are muscle is... inhibited it means the health of the joint is then compromised, it’s like running your car on engine light hoping nothing blows. That’s how most apply training. They continually train unconsciously to their engine light being on, and one day their engine finally blows, they’re left wondering why it happened. If you’re a competitive athlete the timeframe you can drive with your engine light on is even more reduced, but yet we see so many never reaching their potential due to a flaw within the training process leading to their demise. Hence the use of regular flexibility, soft tissue work, manipulation, needling, foam rolling and prevention is needed to ensure the relationship between the agonist and antagonist is appropriate to support the activity and health of the joint. Once you begin to balance the relationship between these two you decrease the injury potential. I offer a mixture of not only flexibility, soft tissue and control over the program design and training process we can ensure the longevity, performance outcomes and success of the individuals are improved 10 fold. #physicaltherapy #massage #training #injuryprevention #gym #flexibility #goldcoast See more

16.01.2022 Injury is a result of poor decision making. Posture alone doesn’t cause injury, posture is a byproduct of tension production and the effect of your decision making regarding program design, lifestyle, movement quality. What I want to focus our thinking towards however is discussing the effects of poor decision making can have on our bodies abilities to only get better and increase our performance but also our injury prevention. To put it in simple terms. Training creates ten...Continue reading

16.01.2022 Great to have Rocky Ogden in working on his stress fracture and imbalances 3 weeks out from his world title fight in Singapore.

15.01.2022 When we train we create tension, if this tension which we create isn’t taken into account with our daily function and activity we can create inhibition which leads to pain. The pain symptoms can be many often the cause can be quite simple. If you’re training programming isn’t a careful calculated process that doesn’t account for variables within your life, such as sporting, Work lifestyle other daily activity which affects your posture and injury history or joint position an...d you continue to create tension producing methods you will simply find yourself not getting ahead with the performance and instead being frustrated with constant niggles and discomfort. If you don’t begin to address the parameters within your training programming which I’d say have the most impact particularly around strength training you will either end up spending a lot of time seeking rehabilitation or surgical procedures when in most cases these don’t either address the root of the problem being the decision-making within your program design. This video highlights a very small fragment of what I perform within the Session of training it doesn’t account for all of the flexibility, abdominal work, control drills and preventative work in the lead up to this point. If you seek to discover you’ll open your eyes To what you’re missing. See more

14.01.2022 Mastery doesn’t come without absolute devotion. And without devotion you won’t move you won’t grow, without moving and without growth you don’t see the chains shackled to your limbs inhibiting growth and change. Until you realise that nothing good comes quick, and nothing quick becomes good. You can set your eyes on application of the art, the craft, the process. When you begin immerse yourself with the process you can pluck the fruits of applying yourself steadily and befo...re you know time has passed and your so much further than previously thought possible. Problem is in this day an age we’re not taught play the long game, we see the short. In everything. When you open your eyes, you not only will be better, you’ll attract better too. This world we live in is a result of our choices, our thoughts, our actions. You’re more powerful than you can believe even if you’re programmed to do the opposite. Remove the mask of self doubt, self pity, self loathing and quit sulking. Move before you can’t and then have self realisation of opportunity lost . - @coach.nickmccallum See more

13.01.2022 People tend to address postural related symptoms by simply targeting posture alone. Posture is a by product of decisions made sometimes by you, and otherwise for you by professionals who aren’t taking into account things that they should. Simply the world wants to talk about posture without addressing the things which have caused it. Tension, length and stability creates the foundation of which our posture is manufactured from. We create tension within the training environmen...Continue reading

12.01.2022 Soft tissue and flexibility can completely change the symptoms of pain, if you treat the cause. Unfortunately the way most apply massage and soft tissue they address the symptoms. Most will lie face down on the table when 95% of the time issues causing the problem aren’t related to the persons back or hamstrings. Instead if you treat and understand what’s influencing the inflammation itself and understand the pain and the bodies patterns you can be very quick at changing variables and get pain free result quickly. If you’ve been seeing a therapist for more than 3-4 sessions and your still in pain....Run chances are they aren’t understanding the problem. #massagetherapy #painfree #injuryprevention # #rehabilitation #pain #recovery #strength #backpain #therapist

12.01.2022 Learn from those who have time in the saddle, Ian King - 10 Olympic cycles, 4 decades managing the best in the world. In more than 30 different sports at International level. I have been fortunate over the past 2/3 years to study under Ian extensively and he remains my biggest influence on my work. Having travelled to Utah, USA to study level 3 & 4 - King sports international. The deeper you dive the more you realise their is too learn. The key is not to fear this the key is to embrace it.

11.01.2022 The power of Vladimir Janda’s work is and has been revolutionary when it comes to treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries and prevention through the correct program design. Janda brought many magnificent ideas and influences to the market and no more so than the lower and upper cross syndrome. Understanding the agonist and antagonist and how each effect one another can save time during the treatment or training process and stop you from spinning your wheels. St...retching the tight antagonist often restores activation of the agonist, and when you allow the body to speak to you, it tells the story, most don’t know what to pay attention to first and foremost and hence the growing injury incidence. When program design globally causes more harm than good, and doesn’t take into account the bodies imbalances. You begin to see the break down and deterioration of joint function. See more

11.01.2022 Very poor form of hip extension. To think that the world follows the trend of a bunch of people running around fucking thin air. Loading their hip in ways that it never should be. With a pelvic position which already has excessive anterior rotation, yet you throw a bunch of weight on it and hope that you can get hip extension . Give me a break. Most people assume this exercise will help balance their already quad dominant program design by applying a really shit form of hip dominant movement which most apply in a fashion with actually causes more quad dominance. I’ve seen people bend their bodies in ways that it’s not designed to accomodate the trend. To then drop this exercise completely and improving their results tenfold. And increasing performance and changing their joint integrity.

10.01.2022 Another day working with people who take action, no matter the location no matter the commitments, literally turn up at your door.

08.01.2022 I hear a lot of people suggesting, covid19 is a perfect opportunity to focus on the other aspects of training and nutrition etc. Personally I don’t need a pandemic to take priority on things which shouldn’t flake just because you can prioritise strength more because of access to commercial or non commercial strength equipment or not. Quite simply if you’re going to reach your potential, in anything and don’t pay attention to aspects of physical preparation as apposed to 1/4. ...You are leaving a lot to the way side. When you produce tension, you can create inhibition if you don’t reduce tension and create length in areas which are constant you will find that the inhibited muscles which aren’t working go dormant and the body begins to breakdown. Too many people leave their hopes of performance stemming on strength training alone without understanding the slow deterioration of their bodies. Bodybuilders/ powerlifters in particular not having to compete in multi directional sports get away with some of the most dysfunctional bodies on the planet because they don’t run.. if they did it would be snap city. So look after yourselves not because you can’t do much else.. do it because you’ll be a lot better for it. STRETCH ! See more

05.01.2022 When you understand that the nature of humans and the world is that 90% of people will be average, follow average things, do average things, you get to accept that. You can focus on identifying who is asking for your help, rather than who needs help. Most need help, but few are looking in the directions that best serve them. That is human nature.... Remember - in the words of Dennis Waitley - anger is threatened values. If you are comfortable with your direction, different directions will not upset you! - Ian King

05.01.2022 I enjoy working with a variety of people, sometimes they include 10x Muay Thai World Champions. John Wayne Parr

03.01.2022 By the time you are experiencing signs of inflammation or pain it’s too late, people tend to treat injuries like minor stoppages in proceedings within their physical prep. Instead of identifying it as a result of your training, lifestyle, work, and hobbies or sport. Injuries are predictable, they’re harder to address left longer. Change performance based goal to improving function you’ll thank me later. It’s like your engine light coming on in your car and choosing to ignore ...it, or getting a health complication and continuing to smoke drink and eat crap. Whilst most take the road of fix it when it’s broken, and often requires surgery. There’s an alternative that is a road less travelled. Through my studies within KSI being able to identify injury related issues and manage the variables in a way that serves the athlete or individuals we work with. Prevention is the cure. #injuryprevention #massagetherapy #massage #coaching #pain #wellness #strengthandconditioning #training #stretching #injury #inflammation #personaltrainer #coach See more

02.01.2022 Injury is a result of poor coaching and program design. Every injury stems from a flaw within the program, if you fail to the identify where this flaw is you risk the a athlete never reaching their potential, as a coach your job is never to pick the fruits, your job is to give others the opportunity too pick theirs. Our bodies are a complex mechanism which requires a great deal of thought in regards too prescription in the strength training environment and equally in the tens...ion reduction and flexibility parameters set individually for the athlete. To restore muscle balance and furthermore look to improve ‘performance’. If however there are kinks in your armour your going to pay the price at some stage it’s just a matter of when and to what extent. Strength programs fundamentally most place little consideration on variables cause and effect relationship of applying for the most part. Which effect the bigger picture and the quality of life for years to come. So whilst the latest and greatest techniques to increase supposed ‘performance’ may seem trendy do you understand the cause and effect of applying that said thing for a period of time and does it increase performance or increase your injury potential, which the latter will quickly kill any discussion related too performance. It’s great to have a big back squat, but without your knee because you haven’t taken into consideration all the variables within you’re approach squatting no longer looks as exciting as it once was.. there is however a method too manage the bodies imbalances continually get better, and continually decrease injury incidence. It’s just not common practice and in a world where it seems sick care is better than prevention doing rehab every three months because most fail to identify the flaw within the previous approach and go to a seminar each month collecting information and never truely reaching their potential is something some strive for, but to be the your best I truely hope you take an approach that puts you as an athlete as an individual first, and seek those who make no excuse for your well being, quality of life, training and competitive career.

02.01.2022 Something to think about I get tired of seeing the same old conversations yet few realising it’s not only one thing dictating this.

02.01.2022 To those worried with regards to the spread of corona virus. I have a couple solutions, for avoiding gym spaces and local health centres. I have a fully equipped ute, which I can arrive at your doorstep and unload equipment. Including massage table, therapy needs, strength training equipment etc, I’ve done so that in case of situations like current that I can replicate the exact same result as I would in the gym with a client as I would at their own home. If this is something you’d like to do feel free to reach out. I also provide these solutions to those in effected areas not local to Gold Coast or Brisbane.

02.01.2022 Goodluck to my client Rocky Ogden tonight as he aims to become a 2x World champion against Muay Thai legend Sam A. All the best!
