20.01.2022 Cant get enough shooting around Perth with this bloke. Im literally rugged up like an Eskimo flying the drone or sitting on the tripod whilst Boothys out on the water with the rest of Perths nutcase keen ski/ kayak/ sup paddlers! Bring on summer I say but huge respect to these athletes back in training for the season ahead!

20.01.2022 Travelling with kids and a tinny makes it quite hard to get good snorkels in, so it was great to finally get out with Frazer and the crew from @ningaloomarineinteractions on a larger boat and travel a bit further, in a more comfortable environment! My wish list for Frazer was mantas, turtles, humpbacks, tigers and orcas. We smashed everything before lunch except the orcas haha! A brilliant day out with the family in Coral Bay, I thoroughly recommend jumping on board if you a...re in town! 17.01.2022 One of our favourite family activities whilst wandering out yonder was star gazing. Remote WA really unlocks what you can see with the naked eye, with minimal light pollution and clear skies at night we saw all sorts of things including the SpaceX satellites, the space station and countless shooting stars. The kids loved the star tracking apps and always knew where Jupiter and Saturn were!! 15.01.2022 Western Australia is so lucky to have Ningaloo on its doorstep. Taken literally 20m from the beautiful sandy shores (drone shot a bit further), the coral at Ningaloo is still one of my favourite to visit in all the Worlds reefs that Ive photographed, and yes that includes the GBR! The #Wanderoutyonder campaign continues, and more West Aussies are travelling North in great numbers. 11.01.2022 Shark Awareness Day Ill always be chasing that head on shot of a shark in its natural environment. 90% of the time they spook and shoot off in another direction leaving you with an arse shot! Reading their behaviour, predicting their movements and treating them like a dog has helped me understand their intentions. Its sad to hear about any shark attack, even when its a friend in their hometown just doing the norm. I feel for any victim thats been unfortunate enough to be... on the wrong side of those smiling teeth, and yes I mightve been lucky in a few circumstances to dodge a nibble, but it wont stop my fascination with these beautiful animals. Surfers may cry for culls and thats fair enough from your opinion, but for me Id prefer underwater encounters like this whilst on honeymoon following breakfast we were both able to jump in and watch these lemons and blacktips catch their breakfast. Yes before you ask I always carry my housing and mask to breakfast so I say no to culling, drum lines and shitty media! #saveoursharks #shark #sharkawarenessday #saveouroceans

11.01.2022 Such a shame to read this. Ive spent a bit of time photographing at the Rowley Shoals and it was amazing. When we saw Scott Reef bleach and die during the mass bleaching event a few years back, we also inspected the Rowleys to see how that had faired and it hadnt been affected so to read this now is very disappointing.

10.01.2022 One of the things I love about Ningaloo is the diversity of wildlife. In one flight I flew over dolphins, mantas and then stumbled across this beautiful hammer head shark. Presenting unusual swimming behaviours by swimming on its side and even upside down at the surface it was quite clear to spot from 80m up, so I had to investigate. The kids got to see it on the screen and were mesmerised like me!! I think it mightve been trying to shake a few pups out...what do you think? #hammerhead #ningaloo #shark #droneshot

06.01.2022 How lucky are we in Perth that these beautiful Southern Right Whales decide to cruise so close to the shore whilst on their annual migration. I took my daughter to the coast for a walk this morning and they were ~100m from the beach at Marmion Angling & Aquatic Club. The calf swimming alongside mum would only be 1-2m long so would be very young - maybe only a few weeks! Adult females can grow to a whopping 15m long at 40t! They've caused quite a spectacle up and down the coast today, resting in the shallows suckling, mum spy hopping and even displaying some playful behaviour like pectoral slaps. It really is #justanotherdayinWA So grateful to live here!

06.01.2022 While windsurfing isnt the it sport that it was in the 80s and 90s -its still a tonne of fun - I consistently get asked is windsurfing that thing you do ...with kite and the strings? While kitesurfing and foiling have taken much of the attention away from Windsurfing (and the money that could be made by windsurfing riders and brands) The designers and riders (not me- I am pretty old school these days)have been quietly taking the sport to new levels. So we can go faster, earlier, in lighter wind, get more drive when surfing and jump higher. Having great images by pros like #nickthakephotography Nick Thake certainly helps. This shot is from Friday the 12th of june at Mettams pool in Perth. Today, Windsurfing is more fun than ever.

01.01.2022 Turns out World Orca Day follows shark awareness day, so of course Im going to share these images taken on a research trip with @orcaprojectoz and Cetrec WA. The researchers (Bec & John and co) have an extensive library of Orcas in WA, tracking their sightings, family growth (and loss) and their behaviours. Its an amazing project so check them out and throw them a like! 01.01.2022 This shoot has been 15 years in the making for me. Today I had the privilege to fly with an old friend, and he blew my mind. This is by far the best flight experience Ive had and well and truely smashed another off the bucket list.
