24.01.2022 Come and join us on Friday evening at Grassland Art Gallery!

24.01.2022 Last weekend at Cooloola National Park. Small things that go unnoticed with @melissa.stannard.artist

24.01.2022 Wow, so this is happening next month! Part of the Wild/Flower Women III exhibition at Gympie Regional Gallery there are some amazing public programs from the 10 artists involved. If you're brave enough to join me in situ we can paint and draw en plein air the amazing landscape of Cooloola National Park - the inspiration for the exhibition. Check out all the other workshops and talks on Eventfinda or the Gallery webpage/socials. And thanks to This Farmer's Wife for the image which I must admit was taken some years ago! https://www.eventfinda.com.au//plein-air-dra/gympie-region

24.01.2022 Small pieces that add up to my work for the Wild/flower Women III exhibition in @gympieregionalgallery from 5 October

21.01.2022 Comfort never leads to excellence. Deliberately lean into the most difficult parts when most people quit. If the practice to go from good to great is enjoyable then you aren't growing. Decide whether you are doing your art or calling for fun or for excellence, because it is an important distinction and you can't have both. Not until you find something you can do to the point of exhaustion, to the extent that you almost hate it but can return to it tomorrow, have you found something worth pursuing. Sometimes, the only way to know the difference between a hobby and a calling is to put yourself through tge crucible of painful practice. Rarely do easy and greatness go together.

14.01.2022 A few places available in the limited opening event(s) for this exhibition at Gympie Regional Gallery on Saturday 10 October. I will be at the 12:30pm session, you can register with the Gallery if you would like to come along :)

14.01.2022 Wild/flower exploring in Cooloola

13.01.2022 I spent an enjoyable couple of days at Tambo last weekend with some lovely ladies painting plein air. The workshop was part of my exhibition at the Grassland Art-Gallery which has a couple weeks left on show.

12.01.2022 Very humbled to be part of this project, and going for my first look at the finished exhibition today as well as some filming of me talking about my work which will be shared on socials soon. Official opening tomorrow, then lots of public programming to be involved in for everyone. Workshops, talks and more - go to Gympie Regional Gallery page to see what's on.

12.01.2022 LET'S KEEP IN TOUCH! I would love to keep in touch with you and share the occasional event or opportunity that I am involved in. I will never share your details and would never send you anything I would not want to receive myself. Please share with your friends and follow the link to join me.

11.01.2022 Here is my work in the Wild/Flower Women III exhibition currently on show at the Gympie Regional Gallery. "Boundaries, Watersheds and Landmarks" was painted plein air at prominent lookouts in the Cooloola region as my response to (and ode to the women who fought to save) this unique region which I am lucky enough to live in. There are flora and fauna found here that are simply not found anywhere else in the world and I learnt so much being part of this project.

08.01.2022 Thinking about watersheds today on a trip through Cooloola. This is East Mullen which marks the meeting of the Noosa and Mary River systems and coastal catchment. #pleinairpainting #landscape #painting

07.01.2022 My paintings have done a long and interesting journey to find their way to Tambo (via a horse float, ute and freight truck) and are now on display at the Grassland Art-Gallery. On display now, it is a collection of work that has been completed in the last few years in my new landscape so it will be interesting to see how it all sits in my old landscape.

07.01.2022 Wild/flower Women III opens this week at Gympie Regional Gallery

06.01.2022 On display and for sale now at Pomona Railway Station Gallery - not the teddy bear (def not my style) - but the "delightful abstracted landscape" at the top. This and a couple of small framed works that would be great ORIGINAL Christmas presents (hint hint).

01.01.2022 Very chuffed to be a finalist in the inaugural Du Rietz Awards and be hanging in the @gympieregionalgallery among such great work.

01.01.2022 Working on some Cooloola National Park inspired paintings for upcoming Wildflower Women group exhibition. I found a great spot surrounded by wallum banksia but was a frustrating day creatively. Going back today for more. Fingers crossed I find my groove.
