20.01.2022 Oversized tees and long socks means it’s leg day and down to business. Hamstrings are coming in nicely, and for the most part I’m maintaining strength in my lifts, which is a great indicator that lean mass is retaining on this prep even in quite an aggressive deficit.

14.01.2022 A spot of posing post morning face to face clients before jumping head first into some programming. Making the most of every opportunity to even take 5-10 mins get in some sneaky posing practice. Shape is slowly coming in.

Some more noticeable changes have occurred over the last few days which is fantastic news as things are moving well within the predicted curve at this point in time now 9 weeks down of this prep. Extremely happy with this mornings check in despite the morning face. Lol.

09.01.2022 Still here! After months of going from being in and out of the gym with the State of Emergency in Tokyo and enforced hotel quarantine upon arrival into Australia; I’m finally settling back into a solid training regime. Definitely not my heaviest set, But focusing on continuously working towards quality and improving technique rather than jumping back into ego lifts. Just feels good to be getting back into a consistent routine again. .

04.01.2022 I’ve always been one to appreciate nature and the importance of time spent in it. But this quarantine period confined to a single room is making me think about the smaller things and appreciate them in greater detail. . The feel of a cool breeze on your face. The smell of rain. The warmth of sunlight on bare skin.... The sounds of water trickling. An array of colours in a sunset after it rains. The calmness of being able to reconnect with the world around you. All those things that seem insignificant to most are becoming all the more important. . Regardless of the situation, there can always be a positive found even to the slightest degree. This period may be mandatory and not overly enjoyable to most, but it can also be a chance for me to work on personal growth and appreciation for what’s around me and that’s exactly what I plan to do. 03.01.2022 New implemented training focus - tempo and improving movement quality. . After 6-7 months of changes to training environments/programming through having to adjust to differences in readily available equipment in Japanese gyms compared to Australia, home training during Tokyo’s State of Emergency, Hotel Quarantine and adjusting back to familiar equipment and training environment back in Brisbane; it has become necessary for me to utilise this period to pull back and focus ...on going back to basics to ensure progression, correct formed bad technique behaviours and actively utilise dormant muscle groups that are currently not firing correctly. . It’s safe to say, that in a short amount of time I have already begun to enjoy a more performance and mechanical approach rather than just going straight in for strength and volume. It’s never a bad time to go back to the basics and fundamentals regardless of your training experience and history. Side note - never underestimate tempo when implemented correctly See more

03.01.2022 Movement quality focus is funnily enough, moving along well . At the half way point of this current programming, progression is moving steadily with an increase in load whilst maintaining movement control and allocated tempo each week. . Looking forward to the remainder of this block and continued improvements in technique and training performance. Can’t beat going back to the basics!
