06.01.2022 Slow down It is not possible to be on the go all the time. Even nature takes a timeout during winter. Animals hibernate, plants lose their leaves and overall nature slows down and rests in preparation for the next season. We are a part of nature and can learn a lot from her seasons. In particular, we can also embrace winter as a period of rest and reflection. Winter can be a reminder that we don't need to be on and go go go all of the time. To remind us that it is ok to ...rest, prioritise ourselves, take things at our own pace, to go within and embrace a slower season. How will you slow down this season?

05.01.2022 Low wellbeing feels like sh*t. It’s like being on struggle street, without passing go and definitely not collecting $200. . When your wellbeing is low, you’re less likely to look after yourself. So the dishes will be piling up - well more than usual ;), staying in contact with friends and family will feel like it’s too much effort, your alcohol and caffeine consumption starts to creep up and physical exercise decreases. You’re less able to cope with stress and life just feels... hard. Low wellbeing for an extended period of time can also make you more susceptible to mental health issues. When I find that my wellbeing is slipping, these are the strategies that pick me back up: Figuring out what’s affecting my wellbeing and getting rid of it if possible Taking some time for me and prioritising self-care Looking after my physical health - walking and yoga are great for this Connecting with friends and family . Traditionally the Winter Solstice is a time to celebrate the gradual return of light and it is a powerful time of transformation and intention setting. . As the longest night, it is a great opportunity for contemplation and reflection.
