25.01.2022 Dont be Scared, be Prepared To my valued clients, In the wake of community concerns around the Covid-19 virus I want you to know that I am following Department of Health guidelines around hygiene and encourage you to do the same: ... * Cough into your elbow * Throw away soiled tissues * Wash hands for a minimum 20 seconds regularly, or use hand sanitiser often * Stay home if you are unwell I also suffer an auto immune disease and am immunosuppressed. I encourage you to please reschedule your appointment with me at the first sign of feeling unwell. Some clients may be eligible for phone/video sessions so please ask if you would like to take up this option. Meanwhile, please stay as healthy as you can and dont neglect your mental health. #mentalhealth #covid19 #beprepared #wellbeing

If you ask me about my black cat, I will know to contact the police. There has been a 40% increase in domestic violence cases since this quarantine. Please dont be afraid to reach out.... This is a friend of mines status that Ive copied and pasted. Were in this together!

21.01.2022 The drought is having dire consequences on mental health and suicide rates in rural Australia. The government needs to ensure equal access to the funds they are offering to not only help farms survive, but the farmers who farm them.
21.01.2022 This is a great read and would work for us adults too!
19.01.2022 Heading into the weekend, why not get out there and produce your own happiness chemicals! I plan to head to the gym, eat, hug and laugh. All chemicals covered
17.01.2022 When discussing change, we often forget to acknowledge the grief and loss that can accompany it. There are different kinds of grief and loss. Grief is experienc...ed not only during death, but also in times of significant transformation. Whenever change occurs, even for the better and even when goodness is on the other side, there is the potential for feelings of loss. Sometimes, we must grieve what we are letting go of, losing, or leaving behind before we can truly start taking steps forward. This process can be painful - so painful that it might feel easier to stay where you are comfortable, rather than go where you can flourish and create waves. Can you think about a time where you put off letting go of a job, habit, belief, privilege, relationship, or way of being because you were avoiding the emotional unpacking it often entails? The thing is, we will remain stuck if we are unwilling to experience the uncomfortable parts of growth, including grief. We wont move forward if we avoid the task. And, if you ask me, remaining stuck and comfortable is far less rewarding than trudging forward through the mud and emerging to the stronger, wiser, braver, more whole version of you thats been there all along. We easily mistake grief for a sign that were doing the wrong thing, but we have to remember that grief is a natural part of the process of change. When we allow grief to be valid instead of something to overlook or dismiss, we can continue on our path even *with* the grief that might come along with it. Embracing the grief of change is challenging, but the more we can let ourselves experience it fully, the lighter the load becomes as we move ahead in our lives and live into our values, beliefs, and truth. PS. How are you doing? Have you taken a deep breath today? Have you stretched your arms up to the sky? An invitation to do that now if it would feel nourishing. A reminder that my new course, Cultivating You, is available now. Click the link to see more: https://lisaolivera.mykajabi.com/cultivating-you-course

11.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW.... Meditation and mindfulness isnt about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person. Its about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. Youre not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. Youre learning to observe them without judgment. And eventually, you may start to better understand them as well
11.01.2022 I always say this in relation to grief. We all grieve differently, but its still grief and it lives with us forever.
10.01.2022 Very wise words

07.01.2022 I am beyond thrilled that the Government has overturned their decision to increase the fees for Social Work degrees! Well done to all the social workers all over the country who lobbied hard against this ridiculous recommendation!!!! Social workers are frontline workers in the field of human services and there has never been a time where they have been needed more.

03.01.2022 Dear friends, Please share. As of tomorrow anyone who is struggling can access mental health professionals online with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). They can use an existing MHCP or get a new MHCP if they dont have one through a ph consult with their GP. Life may look different but support isnt stopping. I am still open, although all sessions are now online, I am taking referrals. As are my colleagues. Stay safe
