17.01.2022 WOOLWORTHS EXCURSION This morning, some of our Kinder children along staff participated in an excursion to our local Woolworths supermarket, below Nido Ascot Vale to purchase the ingredients needed for the children to make their own lunch today. This excursion came from a discussion with the children a few weeks ago in the Piazza about the ingredients the could see in their lunch. ... The children put together a menu and shopping list, then explored the shop finding what they they needed from their list. Participating in excursions gives children the opportunity to realise that they belong to a wider community. This particular excursion gave the children the knowledge of healthy eating habits and interesting information the fruits and vegetables available at Woolworths.

17.01.2022 Securing children’s safety is and will always be our priority. We will ensure we practice fire evacuation drills regularly to be familiar with the emergency evacuation procedure, to ensure children and adults alike are familiar with practices, roles and duties that need to take place to secure children’s and other stakeholder’s safety. Today, we took the opportunity to practice the scenerio of a possible fire ingniting in our kinder yard, to exit children calmly and safely to... our meeting point. We are so proud of how quickly educators and children worked together to exit the centre.
