25.01.2022 We can’t wait to celebrate our amazing team of Educators tomorrow!

15.01.2022 It's okay to not be okay! This R U OK? Day, take a moment to reach out and check in with those around you. There is more to say after R U OK? Find resources to help you have these important conversations at www.ruok.org.au

15.01.2022 Have you seen our visitors to Toddler 2? Roxy found two Monarch caterpillars at the local Salt Lakes and brought them in to explore with the Toddler 2 class. They eat the Milk Weed that grows at the Salt Lake and one has been busy overnight changing into a chrysalis! If you visit the Salt Lake on the weekend, feel free to bring in a little fresh Milk Weed for the second caterpillar! We can’t wait to see them emerge into beautiful Monarch Butterflies and release them back into the wild

14.01.2022 In Kinder 1, the children have been working on their letter recognition. We believe children learn best through play and by interacting with nature, and this is a great example of how school readiness looks in our centre. The children used different natural elements to to create the letter of their first name which introduces literacy concepts and also helps the children develop the fine motor dexterity and strength they need to learn to write

13.01.2022 A BIG Thank You to the Educators and Team at Nido Early School Baldivis for all that you do each day! We appreciate you all so much for your daily efforts, care and love! A big thank you to all the families who took the time to write a leaf of thanks for the team! We have displayed these in the foyer, alongside portraits of each Educator as drawn by the children We still have some leaves left if you would like to add your message to the wall!

12.01.2022 We have had a wonderful week exploring Noongar Culture as part of NAIDOC Week and our ongoing commitment to teaching the children about Australia’s First Peoples. We were lucky enough to have one of our Aboriginal families join us for the day yesterday to share his Culture with children in every age group, thank you Robby! Robby shared storytelling, mural painting and rock painting with the children and taught the children lots of Noongar language words. The children found these experiences very engaging and loved having Robby share his knowledge with them. The children and Educators alike all learnt so much from his visit.

10.01.2022 Nido Early School Baldivis is looking for an Early Childhood Teacher and Diploma Educators to join our team! Contact our Executive Service Manager Mel at [email protected] for more information or to send your resume through. We can't wait to meet you!

08.01.2022 This Thursday is R U Ok? Day - an important day to stop and think about those around you and check in and see if they are okay. This year has been particularly hard for so many, this day reminds us to simply ask those we care about if they are okay and to remind them we are there if they need help. Local cafe Catalano & Co Baldivis will be donating all proceeds from hot drink sales on Thursday to R U Ok? to continue to fund this day and for R U Ok? to continue to create and provide resources to help support these important conversations. You can find some great support resources on their website. It’s a great opportunity to have a cuppa and a chat with a friend or family member and ask them R U Ok?

07.01.2022 Exciting things are in the works at Nido Baldivis! Last week we emailed out new yard plans to all the families. We would love to hear your feedback to help us finalize the final design. If you have any feedback to share, please write a note at our yard design feedback station in the foyer or email the centre. We can’t wait to hear what you think!

06.01.2022 Sensory Play is an important learning opportunity for all children, but is especially enjoyed by the children in our Nursery Room. This week they have enjoyed exploring ‘Flower Soup’ and ice blocks with citrus fruits and herbs and flowers from our garden frozen inside of them. Sensory Play encourages problem solving skills, language skills and fine motor skills to develop, even in our youngest learners and it’s lots of messy fun too!

06.01.2022 Today was a special day at Nido Baldivis - Our First Birthday! What a wonderful year we have had Thank you to everyone for wearing yellow and pink today to help us celebrate! We chose these colours as the current Noongar season Djilba is represented by pink and yellow and our journey over the last year has been represented by our learning about each Noongar season. We also enjoyed some yummy pink and yellow birthday cupcakes for afternoon tea and Mel made the Educators a celebratory cake too! Thank you to everyone for your support over the past year! We cannot wait to celebrate many more wonderful years with you all!

04.01.2022 The Nursery Room have been exploring Diwali this week with our Educators Nav and Bhumi. The children explored clay and made Diyas with Nav. During Diwali, Diyas traditionally hold vegetable oil or Ghee with a cotton wick for burning, they symbolise enlightenment, knowledge and wisdom. With Bhumi, the children explored Rangoli Art, a traditional Indian art used during festivals, representing peace of mind and gives strength and generosity.
