15.01.2022 The past few weeks our Kindy children have building relationships with a local retirement home. We have watched the bonds between these two generations grow and the benefits for both our children and the lovely ladies we have met are endless. We are excited to continue with these visits and look forward to the endless opportunities this will bring.

11.01.2022 Our Kindy Children were given the opportunity to explore the world around them and discover natural materials. They were encouraged to use their imagination to create things using items they collected and a hot glue gun. This experience assisted many skills. Along with being able to create various creatures and people of their choice, the children also furthered their listening and risk taking skills with understanding the gun was hot and how to handle it correctly.

08.01.2022 Exciting times here at Nido Lakelands as we had some equipment added to our outdoor environments! The children are enjoying exploring their new equipment and we look forward to the journey this takes us on

05.01.2022 Yesterday we dressed in red and pink to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. We asked for a gold coin donation to help raise important funds into much needed research. Awareness of Cystic Fibrosis is something very close to our hearts at Nido Lakeland’s as one of our beautiful children has this condition. Our children enjoyed ‘red activities’ throughout the day in each room. We collaged roses and explored red playdough and balloons. Cystic Fibrosis awareness day is symbolised... by ‘65 Roses Day’. The name was derived by a young boy called Richard, who had Cystic Fibrosis. His Mum worked for the CF Foundation and made regular contact with businesses to look for support. Richard told his Mum she was looking for ‘65 Roses’ as he listened to her daily phone conversations. See more

01.01.2022 To commemorate Anzac Day our children participated together in laying flower wreaths at the front of our centre. The children created their own unique flower wreathes using paper plates and flowers brought in from parents. The Kindy children created a memorial and decorated glass tea light holders to also be include in their ceremony. As part of our learning, the children were read a book called, Lest we Forget, and were able to watch a short video called Anzac Ted. We spoke to the children about why Anzac Day is so important to us and our stories reminded us to remember how lucky we all are to live in a free country. LEST WE FORGET
