24.01.2022 Nigel's riddle 'O' the week..can you name these people ?
24.01.2022 I love photographing all things water. I can often be found hanging around fountains and anything that squirts out water. The key thing is to set the shutter speed on your camera to a speed of over 1/1000th of a second, in order to freeze the motion of the water. This image was taken while I was sitting in the car facing into the light. It is made up of two parts, to the left I captured the squirt and the right part is the smear of the windscreen wiper.

20.01.2022 Near the Den of Nargun...
17.01.2022 On this day in 1983 my mother passed away . She had just turned 50. She never got to see her 10 grandchildren . She had red hair and between my 3 sisters and I we have had 4 red heads, 3 blonde and 3 with dark hair. So physically her legacy lives on. When she died I was 26 and I was too preoccupied with myself and I really didn't get to know her that well. I regret this because as I have aged I have become more interested in the genealogical stuff and where I have come from. ...My father outlived her by 33 years and he passed away last June. This image is of her with my youngest sister Michelle on our first farm in Pukerua Bay. It is from a slide which was initially too dark to see any detail, but with the Photoshop I managed to bring the image into the light. It's a great image as my mother seems so loving and relaxed unfortunately her life wasn't often like this. See more
17.01.2022 Merry Xmas to yizall !
16.01.2022 It's too hot for me today. I'm basically rendered useless.I mooch about the house tired and grumpy. I wish I was living back in Beaumaris where this image was taken. Our old flat was one minute from the beach and it was simply a hop, step, jump and plop ....instant relief
15.01.2022 I had the pleasure of having my kids staying with me over Xmas. Both Gina and Martyn are water babies and they would swim in a puddle given half the chance. Yesterday we took them both to Calembeen lake for a swim.
13.01.2022 You wouldn't pick them for brother and sister. Martyn is a tad cheesy and I managed to get a 1/4 of a smile out of Gina.
13.01.2022 Lost in transition. Myanmar is changing fast. Many young people are aspiring to look like young Brits or Americans as they embrace western fashion and culture .This young bloke is probably oblivious to the meaning of the word on the cap .
12.01.2022 I've just been reminiscing on line about music...favorite song/band etc and I got a sudden urge to revisit some of my old pics of me back in my music days in NZ. Sadly my passion for playing and song writing has disappeared . The two images I have posted were taken in the late 80's.Yes I did sing but admittedly I was fairly awful however I felt at the time that if I wrote a song I had to sing it. Our lead singer (Alan Galloway) was pretty average as well and between us we sounded like a bison and goat with cattle prods up our respective bums !
11.01.2022 Thrilled to announce Getty Images have asked me to be a contributor! I am not sure what it all means however I'll submit as many images as I can with the hope that someone will be interested in using them. I'm posting 3 contenders, 2 were used in the Australian Conservation Foundation publication "Heartland" which came out in late 2015. Of course I did'nt receive a centime for my efforts. This is the norm for most struggling photographers. Mind you the ACF is charity organization so charging them wouldn't have seemed right. The book also featured many images from other MAP group members which includes my good self.
09.01.2022 I saw this wee fella snuffling around for insects along the edge of our dam this afternoon. For my non Australian friends he's called an Echidna
09.01.2022 I've been going through my mother's photo album. Included are many pics of her with former boyfriends...that got me thinking and if she had married any one of them I might have ended looking like one of those feature below!
08.01.2022 Cuteness alert! A pair of Australian Wood Ducks and their family arrived this morning
07.01.2022 The sky last night. I used an ash tray as a tripod and shot it from the balcony.
06.01.2022 Here is Martyn like Gina they both love swimming and anything to do with water.
