23.01.2022 CSIRO advice to help everyone see the eclipse tonight.... From 7:44 pm EST, a shadow will slowly creep across the Moon. The real magic happens a bit later when the Moon is entirely in shadow (eclipse totality) and turns a deep red. It will last for about 14 minutes, and you can see this happen at the following times: 9:11 pm Eastern Standard Time (ACT, NSW, QLD, TAS, VIC)... 8:41 pm Central Standard Time (NT, SA) 7:11 pm Western Standard Time (WA) The event should also be visible across the Pacific Ocean and in parts of Asia and the Americas. For more information about the eclipse and hints on how to photograph it with your phone, check out the CSIRO blog: blog.csiro.au/total-lunar-eclipse-blood-moon/ CSIRO #lunareclipse2021 #lookup

21.01.2022 Vale Ruth Bader Ginsburg. This tribute speaks to the life of the notorious RBG. She was a fierce advocate, a judicial supreme and an inspiration to many generations.
20.01.2022 In the hours of our day, we must all take some time preparing for tomorrow. It is for this reason, I’m invested in promoting peace. In the words of tonight’s first peace award recipient.....a seed never sees it flower. You can listen in from home via YouTube to the Annual Peace Lecture starting very soon.
19.01.2022 A beautiful morning to start National NAIDOC week. Locally CCIM (Cap Coast Indigenous Mob) raised flags over the shire in a civic ceremony with community leaders. For me this week is a time to honour, a time to educate and a time to reflect on our journey of reconciliation. This years theme is ‘Always was, always will be’.
19.01.2022 We should never forget and always aspire to do more.
19.01.2022 Emu Park Golf Club are partnering with Legacy to raise much needed funds for the widows and families of our returned service men and women. If your looking for a great way to support a great cause.... give them a call!

17.01.2022 Happy Wattle Day, With thanks to the Wattle Day Association Inc..... The first celebration of Wattle Day was held on 1 September 1910 in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Plans in 1913 to proclaim the wattle a national emblem and celebrate Wattle Day nationally were interrupted by World War I, but wattle remained a strong symbol of patriotism during the war years. Sprigs of wattle and colourful badges were sold on Wattle Day to raise money for the Red Cross. Wattle was sent overseas in letters during the war and was presented to homecoming service men and women at what must have been an emotional moment.

16.01.2022 Eleven Years ago I joined the worlds largest service organisation.... Lions Clubs International because I loved Yeppoon Lions Tropical Pinefest and wanted to #makeadifference. Two years ago I became President of Yeppoon Lions Club. This week I was acknowledged for my service, with a nomination for a National Volunteers Week 'Excellence in Volunteer Management' award. While I wasn't the winner, may I say, what a privilege it is to serve in our community, with such great friends (More than 150 years of service in the photo below). And of course, an acknowledgement that for me to serve, my wonderful wife, and amazing family have all helped along the way. Without you all, it'd be impossible. Thanks team Hutton!

08.01.2022 Have you seen this mural around town? The Livingstone Shire Youth Action Group have been working on a youth led street art project. This project was part of You...th Week 2020, however due to Covid the project was postponed. The group are now half way through the mural, and will aim to have it completed in the second week of Term 4! Great job guys, and thank you to all the young people who voted in the survey at the beginning of the year- The results showed a strong interest for the mural to be environment themed, and the most popular location was near Mcdonalds and Yeppoon Central! If you would like to be a part of the Livingstone Youth Action Group Term 4 project, please email [email protected]
07.01.2022 Capricorn Citizen Advocacy today educated Councillors on the challenges that 'poverty' of connection suffer. #MakeADifferenceEveryday
07.01.2022 Topping off a huge weekend of sport and sports tourism on the Coast! Capricorn Coast Netball Association held their annual Jrn Carnival over the past two days. With 80 teams; the feedback I heard from teams from across CQ was they were just so grateful for an opportunity to play. With COVID plans and extra layers of safety and risk management, everyone had a great and safe time. None of this could happen without the amazing carnival organisers......Thank you, thank you, thank you.
07.01.2022 Do you check it before you chuck it? Research shows that most Australians think recycling is the right thing to do, but with hundreds of recycling labels ou...t there, it can be quite confusing The Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) takes the confusion out of recycling by providing clear on-pack instructions about how to correctly dispose of all parts of a product’s packaging. Always following the ARL ensures that the right packaging ends up in the right bin, reducing the contamination in our waste stream and keeping valuable recyclable material out of landfill You can find out more about the ARL at http://arl.org.au #NationalRecyclingWeek #recycling #RecycleRight #AustralasianRecyclingLabels #ARL
07.01.2022 Hi all, I'm raising much-needed funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women. But together we can change that.... Donate via myMo Space, here: https://movember.com/m/nhutton?mc=20 for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in your life. Stop men dying too young. https://movember.com/m/nhutton?mc=5 Kind Regards Nigel
06.01.2022 The footprint of our urban settings and our expectations around connections will undoubtedly change in the aftermath of COVID-19. While its too early to tell what the long term change will be. Very worthy of discussing how this will be very different depending on the experience of cities, countries and individuals.
05.01.2022 Today is National Police Remembrance Day, services will be held across Australia remembering those whose lives were lost while serving our community. #NeverForgotten
04.01.2022 A huge program for this festival in 2021. Don’t miss your chance to be part of it!
04.01.2022 An exciting project promoting local produce and local growers!
01.01.2022 CQUniversity Australia recently hosted the Festival of Change. It was exciting to hear from experts on the Rise of Regions and the opportunities for both the public and private sector. Its important to note; while much conversation related to the Post COVID Age, we're still very much in the midst with no certainty as to how we as a society will change.
01.01.2022 Our lovely volunteers from Legacy are at Yepoon Central today until 3pm. Please support Legacy who do such good for our legacy widows and the families of returned service personnel.
