25.01.2022 On Tuesday we will be hosting the #ChangeTheHeart service, as part of a national call to prayer led by Aboriginal Christian leaders Aunty Jean Phillips and Brooke Prentis. The #ChangeTheHeart services are designed to educate Australian Christians about the true history of these lands now called Australia, and the truth of #Jan26 and Aboriginal injustices. Join us at 5pm for a 6pm start, and invite friends from other churches and faith traditions to join us in reflection, prayer and lament.

18.01.2022 Statement from Gawura Waambi, Chair, ARDS Aboriginal Corporation As a leader of an Aboriginal organsation and a community leader from Gapuwiyak, I want to expr...ess on behalf of ARDS and my family our condolences to the whole family of Kumanjayi Walker, to the Yuendumu community, to the Warlpiri tribe of Yuendumu. I am from the Top End and my wife of 32 years is an Arrernte woman from Central Australia. The deceased was part of my wife's family. We are expressing our deep sorrow and grieving with aunties and uncles, the young fella’s family and community as a whole including the Yolu people in the Top End for his untimely death. We stand firm with the call from Yuendumu in seeking justice and a comprehensive assessment of Police management of the situation. We are looking forward for the authority through the Police Department who will conduct the necessary investigation to provide a full explanation of the tragedy in due course. This loss of a young life is a stark reminder for everyone and our NT communities to support each other and learn together on how to protect and help all people back to mägaya rom: a peaceful and lawful way. With deep sympathy, Gawura Waambi

04.01.2022 The Darwin Asylum Seeker Support and Advocacy Network (DASSAN) is an organisation we’ve had a long partnership with. If you are able to get there, go now. If not, please hold them and their lawyers in your prayers as decisions are made about the lawfulness of their deportation.
