25.01.2022 The Wednesday crew were out & about early, bit chilly early over on the beach side of Bribie, half the crew went south down to the bunkers the others north up and around the tip, approx 6 kg of mainly small plastic etc was collected the real bonus was back at the glass ! With a low tide and a fair bit of raking we dug up another 8kg of glass including a couple of whole old beer bottles. unfortunately empty. Gr8 morning cleaning up our backyard was had by all.

24.01.2022 With a high tide today we headed off towards Bells Creek, but due to no visibility, wasn't sure if fog - smog or smoke we did an about turn and headed towards Bribie & had a long walk enjoying the sunshine.

24.01.2022 Monday crew split up again today with a couple of them doing a shoreline walk and the rest of us on the boat. Nice calm and not too cold this morning with a trip over to Bribie. I nearly stepped on quite a big python this morning along the long track from the Blue Hole. So they are out and about getting some sun so keep a lookout. Not a great deal picked up from the beach but did do a stop off at the glass spot. It is getting better but still managed to get some from the shoreline. The 2 crew that did a walk on shore started at Bills Boats and back down to Bells boat ramp. All together we collected around 5 kilos of assorted rubbish.

19.01.2022 Tuesday crew did the canals today and collected some big items. 3x shopping trolleys. 1x koppers log. General plastics including drink bottles, plastic wrappers, and plastic bags. Total of 85kg thanks to shopping trolleys and koppers log.

18.01.2022 The wind blew up fairly early this morning so the Monday crew headed up Bells Creek with an incoming tide. First stop was up at the old Barge with a few cans and bait bags picked up. We made our way up to where it used to have illegal camping a fair way along the creek. With all the recent developments going on it seems to have stopped any cars from making their way down to the shoreline with not much picked up. On the way back we went for a walk where the powerlines cross Bells and up to the roadway. Again only small items picked up with a push bike wheel and broken crab pot. 4 kilos of assorted rubbish collected this morning and a watchful eye of a couple of Pelicans.

18.01.2022 The Wednesday crew was on the water nice and early this morning headed to Bribie island as usual half the crew walked north the rest south, lots of small plastics pieces, bottles & discarded bait bags, on our return to the boat ramp we had a scout around and cleaned up a bit more. A few pics of the new panels on the Night Eyes boat ready for some new logos from some NEW and EXISTING sponsors. Big thanks to all sponsors. (( Watch this space for the new look boat ))

17.01.2022 Wednesday crew went to lighthouse reach today, scouted through the bushland and camping area’s then onto the beach. Half the crew went north the rest south and what a collection of rubbish we gathered, from small plastic, ropes, cans and heaps of bottles ( new & old) a gr8 effort for a hard slog in soft sand to cart back approx 44 kg of rubbish. I’m very proud to be Skipping such a dedicated crew. Cheers Slip. Great work everyone and thank you.

16.01.2022 The Wednesday crew was on the water nice and early heading towards Bribie north. Half the crew headed south towards the bunkers the others walked north to the tip and back around the tough way, circumnavigated through the Blue hole with Terry leading the way, they got a gr8 hall of rubbish from areas that are not easy accessible. Fantastic effort you 3.

16.01.2022 Wednesday crew was on the water nice and early hunting every part of the canals for all sorts of rubbish, and to our surprise it was in a very good condition except of course for the expected blow aways of building materials, plastics, poly styrofoam , drink bottles etc. Even only a small amount of rubbish was collected it was great to see our back yard water ways in such a pristine condition and we will continue to keep it that way. Cheers from the Night Eyes CREW.

14.01.2022 Monday crew headed over to Bribie for a walk around pulling up at the old glass spot for another collection of old glass along the shoreline. The sand has been blown across the tops of the dunes in some spots heading towards the passage side. More sand build up around the old light beacon stand as well. Mainly small items picked up along the beach side, plastic caps, straws and some bait bags. Down at the Blue Hole area, some cans and bottles and other plastic items picked up in the bush. Back over on Golden beach side more cans and bottles and more bait bags picked up. 3.5 kilos of rubbish collected this morning.

12.01.2022 Tuesday crew went to Lighthouse Reach and walked across to the ocean beach. Found quite a bit of glass bottles at the picnic tables as well as the old lighthouse site. We also gathered some plastic and paper litter. We weathered some very heavy rain on the walk as well as the boat trip back. Gathered app 5kg in total.

09.01.2022 Just a little video shot by the boys today on their kayaks.

09.01.2022 Two of members Barry Trinder and Bob Bond got their kayaks on the boat and did a special run today above the canals in the old creek. Got lots of old pool toys, plastic bottles, foam, food wrappers, and an old rubbish bin. All up 25kg. Fantastic guys.

06.01.2022 Monday crew started off up Bells Creek this morning. It’s bad enough that some people leave rubbish about but to see discarded face mask just tops it off. This was up near the old barge another favourite fishing spot for some. After a quick clean up of the area we headed back out of Bells Creek due to the outgoing tide and over to Bribie. We were greeted by a red bellied black snake warming up in the sun and stayed still long enough for a photo and off it went. Not a huge amount picked up this morning, mainly small items, plastic pieces, cans bottles and general rubbish. 5 kilos picked up.

05.01.2022 A few Wednesday crew members missing today but we battled on over to Bribie scouring the beach from the bunkers to the tip. After a few rough surf days we collected plenty of rubbish including plastic bags and lots of small pieces, bottles, tops and other odd bits of foreign matter. It turned out to be a gr8 day on the beach and the water was perfectly clear showing just how healthy our waterways are.

03.01.2022 Monday crew headed down to Roy’s Rd Boat ramp first up for a scout around. Next stop back to Lighthouse Reach. One of the boys spotted a large brown snake in the scrub so be on the lookout if you venture into the scrub the weather is definitely bringing them out. Wind started to pick up a bit so we headed back and went up bells creek. We collected 7 kilos of rubbish this morning.

03.01.2022 Monday crew did a trip down to Roy’s Road boat ramp. We stopped off at Lighthouse Reach for a walk around. Mainly bottles and cans discarded in and around the picnic area. With the incoming tide we stopped off at an area we usually can’t get to for a walk around. Again just old bottles and cans caught up in the mangroves and an old crab pot float in the bushes. 3.5 kilos collected, mainly bottles and cans.

03.01.2022 Monday crew split up with 3 doing a shoreline clean and 4 of us on the boat. The boat crew went down to Roy’s Road Boat Ramp then worked their way back up the passage with a stop off at Lighthouse Reach and back up to the northern end of Bribie. The land crew made their way up to Bills Boats. By the end of the morning we had collected 15 kilos of rubbish.

02.01.2022 These two young girls are with Water & Land Care Eco Warriors and they collected all these cigarette butts and other litter from Kings Beach this morning. Well done girls
