23.01.2022 - MEET THE DJ - Resident DJ Shannon Nightingale born in Shepparton, Victoria He grew up listening to all his parents records, tapes and then eventually cd's. He loved music! His mother used to put on prerecorded "Rage" tapes on instead of cartoons because that's what he wanted to watch! He attended McGuire College High School. And in year 8 he picked up his first music instrument, The "Alto Saxophone." He also was graded at a level 2 AMEB on Sax. And played in the school co...ncert band, jazz band and rock band. He then began teach himself how to play different instruments: The Bass Guitar was first then the drums then the normal electric/acoustic guitars. Then soon he enough he learned to play nearly every other instrument in the music room. (Good excuse to get out of normal school work) He learned to play the bass guitar really well and was asked to join the school rock band as their bassist. A four piece young teen rock band was formed out of that school band. Their band name was called RIC (Reversed Intertwining Contradiction). They wrote original songs as well as played covers. Playing gigs around the goulburn valley even winning the Word and Mouth shine festival battle of the bands 2 years in a row. But then by the end of year 12 all the members were going in different directions for uni, and work. Shannon stayed in Shepp and picked up work in a variety of places trying out different roles in different places before he started his career as a fire service technician in 2008, in which he ended up being promoted to project manager as time went on and worked there just under 9 years. In 2015 he bought a set of decks of a friend and tought himself how to mix tracks. He was asked to play at his mates 21st for his first gig that year and really enjoyed it. Since then, word got around and people had him play at their birthday parties, weddings, engagement parties and footy balls etc. He was approached by night club and pub owners in Shepparton to be the resident DJ at their clubs, which he really enjoyed. But private parties was more his forté. He decided to create social media business accounts recently to grow his DJ business to a local household name. Shannon is very enthusiastic and it seems as if wherever he goes, there is someone there that knows him. When he is not DJing, he enjoys producing his own tracks, he is an huge Lakers basketball fan which he follows his Idol LeBron James and also is pretty handy at darts, which he plays 2 nights a week. He enjoys a variety of styles of music which he combines in great dance sets when he plays at events.
