21.01.2022 We #SALUTE the mom whose son has cerebral palsy and who wanted to skate. She designed this prosthetic leg with embroidered red lace-up boots and a bell attached. Frida's husband, Diego Rivera,... was left with an impressive wardrobe of his wife after she died, which he decided to seal in the bathroom of their Mexico City home, and ordered to keep them hidden away until 15 years after his death. He passed away soon after in 1957, but Kahlo's belongings were left locked until 2004 when the museum decided to catalog its content. The photographer who got the privilege to immortalize over 300 of Frida's wardrobe items was the renowned Japanese photographer Ishiuchi Miyako, who did the job using only a 35mm Nikon camera and a natural light. 13.01.2022 Tell the Australian Government your #NDISStories. We are preparing an extensive submission, based on all the issues people with #disability are having with the... #NDIS, which our members tell us about every day. You can have your say personally by filling in the survey on the website, or by making a submission. There are lots of workshops going on that you can attend as well. Submissions close 31 October. 12.01.2022 Can you help? There is a Bill in Parliament today that will make changes to how the NDIS is run. We, with other disability organisations, are asking for the Bil...l to be delayed. The NDIS needs to be fixed but we need to take the time to get it right. The Bill has the potential to lock in a set of rules on how decisions on the NDIS are made, but we havent had enough time to consider the impact of the Bill. We cant afford to be locked into new rules now when the NDIS Act itself is currently being reviewed, and we havent developed the National Disability Strategy and the National Disability Agreement. Can you call or email some of the Senators and ask them to delay this Bill? Contact details on our website: https://pwd.org.au/4697-2/ [Image description: Yellow and black delay road signs with text over the top that says 'Can you help? Ask Senators to delay the NDIS Streamlined Governance Bill. Any changes to the NDIS need to wait until the big Tune Review is done. We need Senators to vote to delay this Bill today.'
