04.01.2022 A few years back my cocky...errrr...i mean...#confident...ya confident self, a huge proponent of #CNC use, but w/ 6-7+yrs of planer work before ever touching any software...decided to have some fun and challenge myself w/ a #backyard #costarica #junglebuilt #twinfin build-out using only the lowest quality and/or recycled materials readily available at the time...a stripped down #EPS blank out of broken longboard...woodenfins #leashloop and #stringer made of a locally-sourced ...#laurel...the most #pissyellow #oxidized non-#userfriendly blushed out #marinegrade #epoxy in the world probably...untreated boat #fiberglass that saturated just great, very great, absolutely wonderful...like the polar opposite of a #premiumquality top-shelf tampon...a hotcoat full of insects...and super gritty #homemade #sandpaper(actually that part was made up)...i left her down there dubbed #TheTownBicycle for all my mates to pass around...and wouldnt ya know?...she still alive and kickin 3yrs(i think) later as demonstrated by @dannyelescolar droppin his wallet right before he experiences a #saltwaterenema...now if thing makes it to 10ish years and ends up in some kids hands still ripping...well imho we got a tru #ecoboard on our hands...to me the most #green u can possibly be while crafting w/chemicals...are boards that go the long haul...bring multiple smiles to many different surfers over the yrs of their life...and ultimately stay outta the land fill as long as possible...tall order i know...well get there eventually...#NightmareShapes #NightmareArmy #ReduceReuseRecycle #EpoxyOnly #BackyardBuild #BackyardSurfboard #LarryLayback : @costaricasurfphotography See more
