24.01.2022 Lilly Herzer's dressage star Mingo enjoyed some body work over the school holidays. He is a character to work with and responds beautifully to a massage

23.01.2022 Yesterday i had the delight of working with Sophie and her wonderful TB Oscar. At 17 Oscar had been a show horse, turned out for a long time and then into Sophies stable. Years of muscle contractions and a slip saw him very sore and unhappy. At the end of his sessiin he didnt want to go home. Check out the jump on this horse.... not bad for a horse that has only started jumping in the past few months. I look forward to working with this talented combination

21.01.2022 What is that I do? Muscle therapy is a non-invasive adjunctive modality which aids in the relief of muscular pain and dysfunction. Using massage techniques, compression, stretching and corrective exercises, muscle therapy can have many physical and emotional benefits for the horse and rider alike. Tender and painful spots in the soft tissue, either muscle or fascia, are known as Trigger Points. These are spots which can cause localized and referred pain, as well as muscle... spasm, decreased range of movement, and fatigue. Muscle therapy can help to break the pain-spasm-pain cycle which can lead to chronic pain and dysfunction. It can help to alleviate existing chronic pain, as well as aid in healing and prevention of injuries. Sessions are scheduled to give the most benefit to the Horse and Rider. This can sometimes be a series of sessions or a regular treatment schedule. What are the physical benefits of Muscle therapy? Helps to prevent muscle and soft tissue injuries Increase circulation of blood and lymph Can aid in digestion Increase Range of Motion and flexibility Helps to relieve muscle tension and stiffness Helps to promote healing of injuries Helps to relieve pain and muscle spasm Helps to enhance athletic performance Helps to relieve stress and enhance the immune system What are the psychological benefits of muscle therapy? Helps to decrease anxiety and nervousness Helps to increase relaxation Invigorates and energizes Helps to increase attention span Helps to enhance the connection between Horse and Rider

20.01.2022 I really enjoy working with all horses but I do have an extra soft spot for retired racehorses and assisting them to gain the best possible muscle function for their careers as equestrian horses. Lyle has just finished racing and had a massage today to assist him to have a really good and relaxed let down before coming into training. I always enjoy my time and work with Vengeance Performance Horses

19.01.2022 So many riders really undervalue the pectoral muscles on their horses and the vital role they play in a horses wellbeing

17.01.2022 This week i have the sheer delight and pleasure to work with the divine Benjamin a.k.a Beni and his devoted owner Naomi Trudgeon. Even the smallest of ponies still benefits from good quality muscle work. Beni certainly loved his massage and showed his appreciation with lots of cuddles and kisses. I did want to sneak him home in the back of my car!! He was a much happier and flexible pony after his session today. Good luck on the weekend to you both!!

14.01.2022 This has been a very rewarding week for myself and the wonderful horses that I work with. Amazing outcomes for three horses who have made wonderful progress. Firstly Nikita who was so sore when I started to work with her that she constantly wanted to bite everyone. Lactic acid build up in her muscles made her very unhappy and grumpy. This resulted in tieing up, restricted movement and bucking when being ridden.... This week Nikita was cuddley and very relaxed during her massage. Rosie, her owner, tells me that Nikita is so much happier in herself , is less girthy, has stopped biting and hasnt bucked when being ridden. Great outcomes for all involved and a wonderful testament to the power of an experienced massage therapist.

13.01.2022 I have been VERY busy over the past few weeks working on a diverse range of horses. Many of you have asked if I can do your horses in the New Year. I am pleased to announce that I am taking bookings for the Bellarine Peninsula on January 5 2017. I have only a couple of places left so please let me know ASAP if you would like to book in.

12.01.2022 Bud enjoying a lovely poll release

08.01.2022 I have been very busy looking after all of my gorgeous equine clients for a Christmas massage. Bella is a true testament to the power and influence of a good massage therapist. When I was asked to see Bella she was lame behind and very unhappy due to back pain. Working with her loving family I was able to suggest saddle fittings, dietary changes and training tips to assist Bella through her injuries. I am delighted to report that Bella is back in full work and a happy gir...l again. A huge change in this horse in approx 6 weeks. As an experienced rider, coach and horse trainer I use a holistic approach to assist horses and owners achieve their full potential.

06.01.2022 Even though i havent updated this page for sometime i have still been very busy working with a variety of horses and their owners. Yesterday i had the absolute pleasure of working with a very special ottb, chestnut mare called Joy. Poor Joy was traveling in her float when her owner and Joy were rammed from behind by a driver high on drugs. The float was hit so hard that it spun the car and float several times before the float came off the car flipped several times with poor... Joy clinging to life inside. Luckily Joy was able to be removed from the float and superficially has scrapes and cuts. Musculoskeletal damage is now her new priority for a healthy, pain free life. Joy loved her session yesterday and was very trusting to allow me to give her muscle release and reduce her pain. This beautiful mare was rocking under my hands and stretching herself throughout the session. I very much look forward to helping this special mare on her journey to recovery. Please take care when towing your loved equine friend and be wary of any erratic driving around you.

04.01.2022 Some food for thought. Particularly for stabled horses.

03.01.2022 Thank you to all the wonderful horse owners and their beloved steeds for your custom over the past weeks. It has certainly been a very busy time with many horses returning to work after a long and wet Winter. I am seeing a lot of horses for strains due to slips and silly buggering around in paddocks on Spring grass. I have even had horses delivered to my door today to ensure they can be looked at. I am running out of booking times before Christmas very rapidly. Please book in if you want your horse looked at before Christmas as i cannot guarantee a time at this stage.
