"If only I had a dollar for every time someone asked me how I compete with the internet or who told me they do all their own bookings online, Id be one wealthy woman! So you COULD do all the leg work yourself and send the profits for your booking to a faceless offshore company...or you could come talk to a local travel agent, who will do the work for you and then youre helping to pay the wage... of a local resident who will in turn spend money locally and support other local small businesses. Sure, I COULD cut my own hair, service my own car and do my own taxes, but Id rather pay someone else to do those things for me...someone who does those things on a daily basis and who is faster and better than me at doing them. The irony is too that youre NOT guaranteed the best price by booking online, the likes of Trivago are duping you and simply steering you towards hotels who pay higher marketing fees...they dont have your best interests at heart and theyre making money out of you doing all the work. Spend local folks, rant over"! All I can say is I wish you knew what I know and how it all works. Ive said this time and time again myself.. please .support local! Myer is in trouble, Just Jeans in in trouble...for goodness sake.....STOP buying and booking online supporting foreign countries who do absolutely nothing for our country or our local communities. Support local and support Australian!! My rant over too.
