25.01.2022 WOMANS BODY-WEIGHT STRENGTH WORKSHOP Where to start? The answer is simple. With the BASICS. Without a solid foundation, your body-weight strength training will at some point, cease to progress, or you will get injured...or both.... IE: Hanging is a basic human function that leads us to pulling. Just like standing on our feet leads us to walking. If you are unable to hang or you bypass hanging work, this deficiency will become evident when you come to pulling. The most common example of this would be a female lacking the ability to do even one simple chin-up. In this 120min workshop we will cover the basics for hanging, scapula strength, straight arm and bent arm practice and hand balancing. If you want to begin to explore your bodyweight practice, improve the gymnastics component of your cross fit, add some "tools" to your yoga or just want to be a badass...maybe get your first chin-up? Email: [email protected] OR Comment below to book your spot. Location - St Kilda Botanical Gardens Day - Sunday 17th Jan Time - 9:30am-11:30am Cost - $40 Spots limited to 15. Must book/pay in advance to: Nikki Masterman. ACCT#: 5164 32357 BSB: 014 557 ANZ
22.01.2022 Leading a physical lifestyle is healthier than training an hour a day. If you train once or twice a day, but sit down for the rest of the day, you are sedentary. What do your lifestyle habits look like? ... A sedentary lifestyle can overpower a conscientious training program. The healthiest way to approach movement is not in a gym for a set amount of time. Instead scatter it throughout the day, as frequently and as randomly as possible. The more the better! The more random and varied the better! When it comes to healing an injury or chasing after a skill, I generally prescribe multiple, short, frequent movement sessions per day. The concept of Greasing the Groove can be researched here. This is how I have been leaving the house each morning....just because it is fun! If you need help with your movement practice... Its kind of what we do, hit us up and we can get started! Find the opportunities to play, whatever that means to you!

19.01.2022 WHY do YOU train? A simple yet crucial question to ask yourself if you wish to see continuous results and change, within your practice. Yet an over looked one. ... Without knowing why we do what we do, without intention, without awareness of WHY...there is no what. There is no substance. Well, maybe at first. But after a while our training can start to feel empty and unfulfilled. For myself, I train because...LIFE. Because I want to be the most capable, functional, strongest human being that I can. To be prepared for whatever life throws down. Simple examples would be: Can I climb this ridiculously challenging mountain? Sure. Can i Sit in my squat and eat my dinner? You bet. My "WHY" is to create more freedom, more awareness, more preparedness within my body. Everyday. And that journey will never cease, until the day I die. Next time you feel your movement practice has plateaued, or you feel you arent quite getting what you need...Ask yourself why. Why am I doing what Im doing? Does it resonate with me? If not, begin thinking about what does. What you need. If you would like some help with your goals, whatever they may be, email: [email protected]
