25.01.2022 LUXE LEATHER | Lets talk about leather. Over the years I have debated and deliberated over creating vegan-leather aka non-leather products, but I havent for a many reasons. The main reason is that leather IS sustainable. Leather in its natural state is a by-product, its also extremely hardwearing and with a small amount of care it can last for years and years. We try to create classic timeless styles that can be inter-changed and updated with ease. The other reason I hav...ent used non-leather alternatives is that they intact create more waste . Most vegan-leather is made from plastic they are less durable and take years for the environment to breakdown (unlike a natural leather product). Store large tote bags lying down or hang them in your closet. Air your bags regularly. This will avoid any mold or moisture building up. Letting your bag get some sunlight will kill mold spores. (Mold is actually a tiny mushroom), if your bag does shows signs of moulding then you can use a small amount of vinegar and a soft cloth to remove it. Be sure to completely dry the area as any moisture or excessive water could damage your bag. Ensure that the selves or cupboard is clean and dry too. 12.01.2022 2020 BEGINS | We face the new decade in an unimaginable way By now you would already know that nearly 200 fires are still burning across our beautiful country. More than 15 million acres have been burnt ( thats 7 x the 2019 Amazon fires) the human death toll continues to climb. Over 1,500 homes have been so far been lost and an unimaginable 500 million animals are estimated to be lost. This is apocalyptic and the recovery will be long for so many and will affect all of u...s. Having grown up in the heart of the bushfire area of New South Wales I have enormous respect and gratitude for our brave firefighters (including my own Dad), fighting to save their land, their communities and their animals. These people are heros in every sense of the word. Facing the full force of the wrath of mother nature night and day ( and I mean after a hard days work on the farm going to fight a fire all night until 5am and then getting up and doing it all again in 45 degree heat. These arent all young men either, they are grandfathers, they are women, they are brave. Its people like this that are the keepers of our country. These people make their lives in our rural villages and communities. These people need our support. So what can you do now? Firstly please be careful and check before you donate. I have added a list of places you can donate to below. WHAT WE ARE DOING NOW We are making 2020 the year to begin re-building our beautiful country. We arent asking for money Celest Barber @celestbarber has that one sorted :). We are simply just helping to replace what has been lost. For every bag sold in 2020 we will be planting a native Australian tree in a fire affected area in NSW. Rebuilding our country will be a mammoth task, but if we all pitch together we can make a difference. This is just my way of helping.
