01.01.2022 Monument to a Monument- Came across this intriguing structure recently whilst crossing the Swiss-German border by foot. I haven't been able to confirm it, but it looks distinctly like a brick reproduction of part of a Dolmen from the Megalithic tradition. These were stone portal tombs erected around 3200 BC, and since it took entire villages to erect the tomb they remained stubbornly in place for thousands of years - that is until the advent of tractors and other heavy machinery after WWII. This appears almost as a ghost of the past perhaps erected in brick based on the memory of one of the elders in the area.
